At this time there were only two scousers in the first team(John Aldridge and Steve McMahon), and the theme of the song evolves around their teammates strange accents(Non-Liverpudlians understandibly finds this hard to belive). This song made it to #3 on the charts in England. Supposedly, he died from being electrocuted by his backyards electric fence RIGHT after finishing the composition to take care of his dogs. John Barnes reckons Liverpool will need to bring in three new mega signings during the summer window if they are to make a serious title push next season. The former Reds great went on say that while introducing youngsters into the team is fantastic, Liverpool also need to have experience playing alongside them to succeed. Kenny Dalglish's boys currently sit in fifth spot (Europa League) in the Premier League table, seven points behind Manchester City who are in fourth - with only three games left to play. Some had hoped that the Anfield club could qualify for the Champions League next season but speaking to Alan Brazil, Barnes claimed that Liverpool can class fifth as a good success. He said: "I think it's too late for Liverpool to get fourth spot particularly with Manchester City's victory at the weekend. Liverpool can finish fifth and next season they'll look to make a push [for the title] but they still need investment. Kenny being there is not just a breath of fresh air he understands the philosophy and traditions of Liverpool, of how the fans demand they play. The fact that he's not been at the club or in management for 15 years has no bearing on his ability. He's a fantastic manager, who understands football and understands Liverpool. They are a perfect fit and if Kenny had gone to a different football club it probably wouldn't have the same impact.
