John Clark (Bob Steele) and his deaf pal, Bootch Collum (Buck Connors), are trailed by US Marshal Lamar Bly (Jack Rockwell), who thinks they are part of The Kootney Kid's (Earl Dwire) gang, which had just held up the stage coach. But the gang attacks the pair, and Bly joins them in the gunfight. Bly is wounded and is taken to a Mexican's camp to recover. He gives John his badge and authorizes him to take up the hunt. The Kid, unknown to John by sight, is on a ranch which he hopes to gain legal possession of as it has oil. It is really John's by right, which he does not know until informed by his sweetheart, Joan Vallon (Roberta Gale.) The Kid has taken a letter from the stage holdup which he is using to establish his identity as the rightful owner named Everett Tarkington Clark, John's real name. John is in the courtroom when the Kid makes his claim, but his protest is overruled and he is arrested on suspicion of having killed Marshal Bly. He and Bootch escape and ride to intercept the Kid who is on his way to eliminate Bly, the only person that can verify John's claim.

Fiat money inflation in France - Part 1: John Law

Max Keiser, of maxkeiser.com, James Turk, Director of The GoldMoney Foundation and Pierre Jovanovic, jovanovic.com, tell the story of the introduction of Fiat Money to France. They discuss John Law and how his money printing fix was seen by the French Regent as a way out of the kingdom's debt troubles -- accumulated by past wars and royal extravegence -- a way to avoid the harsh spending cuts that were unavoidable given the difference between income and spending. Keiser, Turk and Jovanovic talk about the Mississippi Bubble and how speculation in stocks became rampant as banknotes were printed to drive up the value of paper assets, how the French public was caught up in the speculative mania with dreams of untold riches from Louisiana. They explain how John Law's success and the riches that he brought the crown ensured his promotion to Minister of Finance. The trio also discuss how the bubble popped, how all manner of coercive and increasingly desperate steps were taken to prop up the value of shares in the Mississippi Company, including the printing of increasing amount of banknotes. When the banknotes themselves started to depreciate, gold and silver coin were outlawed in an attempt to force the French to use only paper money. The consequences were disastrous, with commerce paralysed and the economy brought to its knees. Stossel interviews Detroit's police chief Jerry Oliver who points out that since the dealing of drugs is between willing buyers and sellers, the War on Drugs forces cops to use deceit to catch those dealing drugs. Despite all the law enforcement resources put into fighting the drug war, availably of drugs is just as high as before the drug war began. Three unintended consequences of the war on drugs are explored including that it sucks children into the underworld, corrupts cops, and creates crime. Stossel travels to Colombia and examines the effect of the War on Drugs on Colombians. The futile effect of incarcerating of drug dealers to stop the flow of drugs is noted and many people who choose to use drugs ask why they shouldn't have the freedom to choose what substances to put in their bodies. Finally Stossel travels to Europe to see how drug legalization has affected European society.

Blackwater: Hired Guns, Above the Law by Jeremy Scahill Global Research, September 22, 2007 My name is Jeremy Scahill. I am an investigative reporter for The Nation magazine and the author of the book Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army. I have spent the better part of the past several years researching the phenomenon of privatized warfare and the increasing involvement of the private sector in the support and waging of US wars. During the course of my investigations, I have interviewed scores of sources, filed many Freedom of Information Act requests, obtained government contracts and private company documents of firms operating in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. When asked, I have attempted to share the results of my investigations, including documents obtained through FOIA and other processes, with members of Congress and other journalists. I would like to thank this committee for the opportunity to be here today and for taking on this very serious issue. Over the past six days, we have all been following very closely the developments out of Baghdad in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of as many as 20 Iraqis by operatives working for the private military company Blackwater USA. The Iraqi government is alleging that among the dead are a small child and her parents and the prime minister has labeled Blackwater's conduct as "criminal" and spoke of "the killing of our citizens in cold blood." Wheat, Weed, and ObamaCare: How the Commerce Clause Made Congress All-Powerful

*Update: US District Judge Roger Vinson ruled that because the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act's individual mandate to purchase health insurance is unconstitutional, the entire law "must be declared void." Judge Vinson cites this Reason.tv video on page 47 of his decision. --- The Commerce Clause of the US Constitution grants Congress the power to "regulate commerce . . . among the several States," and for more than 100 years federal lawmakers invoked it for a very narrow purpose—to prevent states from imposing trade barriers on each other. But today members of Congress act as if it gives them the authority to do just about anything—including forcing you to eat your vegetables. During her Supreme Court confirmation hearings, Elena Kagan seemed to accept that the Commerce Clause could, in theory, give Congress the power to dictate what Americans eat. And what about ObamaCare's "individual mandate," which forces Americans to purchase health insurance? ObamaCare opponents are lining up to challenge its constitutionality, but supporters say it's justified—you guessed it—under the Commerce Clause. How did a clause intended as a restriction on states wind up giving Congress a green light to regulate noncommercial, local, and purely private behavior? How will ObamaCare stand up against the legal challenges brought by the states? Legal titans John Eastman (Chapman University Law Professor) and Erwin Chemerinsky (Founding Dean, University of California, Irvine School of ...

Government Officials Voting Fraudulently: Lawmakers Breaking the Law - Texas Legislature

What would happen to you if police caught you on video fraudulently voting? Would cops quickly arrest you and throw you in jail, only to have the District Attorney immediately charge you with fraud? What would happen to elected government officials if they were caught doing the same? Absolutely nothing? In fact, our representatives in the US government have become so brazen, that they commit fraud in plain view, on a daily basis, while at the same time trying to pass laws that would further restrict and criminalize the public for doing the same. This is a clear sign of excessive government, when the government is so large and overwhelmingly powerful that it's agents can abuse the civilian population without any sense of guilt, remorse, or fear - when government officials deny charges of illegal conduct made against themselves as a matter of semantics, and when agents of the government expect and get immunity from any of their actions; actions that would be criminally prosecuted upon any other citizens. The few standing up for freedom, liberty, and the Constitution, such as Congressman Ron Paul, who has been called the Thomas Jefferson of our day, are the only hope for America; the only hope for returning our empire-sized government to it's proper Constitutional levels of national defense, upholding the law, and protecting the rights of the people and individual liberties. There's been a lot of debate at the State Capitol on bills relating to voter integrity. Some ...

Nick Haas & Rep. John Burt Reveal Family & Financial Destruction by the NH Family Court

Nick Haas is a law-abiding citizen, a public official, and a fit parent. Yet, Mr. Haas has been denied all access to his two lovely daughters for several years because of the NH Family Division's unlawful, despicable orders. Furthermore, Mr. Haas was jailed for a period of approximately ten days because he could not produce a large sum of money that was retroactively ordered that he pay by judge Edward Tenney. STOP! Judicial Child Abuse reporters were at the hearing that Judge Tenney ordered Haas hauled away in handcuffs and shackles. Mr. Haas has an impeccable record of paying child support and providing for his children, but Judge Tenney thought it expedient to destroy Mr. Haas financially by breaking the law and violating his rights. Only because loyal friends and family came to his aid was Nick released from Jail. Nick is an intelligent, caring, and loving friend to all that know him and it is indisputable that he committed no crime and never has there been any incident of abuse or neglect that would justify removing his children from him.
