Johnson City NY Flood 2011

Johnson City NY aftermath of the 9-7-11 flood. The water was past our knees in the backyard. As for the basement it was almost to the first floor when we evacuated. I want to say I'm very sorry for anyone who was hit worse by this tragedy. I wish you the best of luck in turning this around.

Harlem, New York City - Video Tour of West Harlem, Central Harlem & Apollo Theater

In this new video tour, New York Habitat ( www.nyhabitat.com ) presents you a great way to learn about Central Harlem and West Harlem, the historic neighborhood in New York City! You will learn many lesser-known aspects of the fabulous neighborhood just a short subway ride away from midtown and downtown Manhattan. Don't hesitate to check out our other video about the Morningside Heights part of Harlem, New York. ( http ) Harlem is a large, historical area in northern Manhattan. It's a major residential, cultural and business center. It stretches from the East River west to the Hudson River between 155th Street to the north and 110th Street to the south, which is the northern boundary of Central Park. Harlem is so large, in fact, that it would be impossible to cover in just one video. So instead, our first stop in our Harlem series will be Central Harlem & West Harlem! Harlem History: Harlem was originally a Dutch village founded around 1658. It was named after the city of Haarlem in the Netherlands. In the early 20th century many African Americans moved to this area and in the 1920s and 30s many famous artists, musicians and businessmen became well known in Harlem and took Black culture to a higher level, in a movement known as the Harlem Renaissance. The Studio Museum of Harlem -- 124 West 125th Street At The Studio Museum of Harlem, there is more about black history including guided tours, readings and exhibitions of African American art and culture. This song started off as a special dedication to JP. Since it's release on 2005 cd Rebel Soul Music, this has become a show stopper worldwide from Martin Luther fans and especially the incredible women who stalk the streets of such an acclaimed city. Here we feature Shelby J on vocals who adds just the right taste and texture, mirroring Martin's velvet tone as they get waist deep into this song. Performed and recorded at 5am yall!! Safe In New York City by AC/DC

Safe In New York City is a song by popular hard rock group AC/DC. It is found on their 2000 album Stiff Upper Lip. The song was also released as a single. The track gained poignancy after September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. Angus Young said that although originally the lyrics were meant to make fun of the mayor at the time's claim that he'd cleaned up Manhattan, he also said that "to me New York is a city where you can never predict what's coming next." The song was later included in the 2001 Clear Channel memorandum, a list of "lyrically questionable" songs. Lyrics: Head over baby give me your hand Check out the lay of the land Need a little rockin' in my big limousine Oh, come on over baby and I'll make you obscene Ifeel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City All over the city and all of the dives Don't mess with this place, it will eat you alive Got a lip smacking honey to suck off the jam I'm on top of the world now, ready to slam I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City I feel safe in New York City - solo - Running all over like a jumping bean Take a look at that thing in the tight assed jeans Coming your way now, you may be in luck Don't you fret boy, she's ready to buck I feel safe in New York City I feel safe ...

NFL Draft: Mark Sanchez Interview, New York Jets

Sporting a dark green tie purc and a New York Jets sports cap, now former USC Quarterback Mark Sanchez came down to the Interview Room at Radio City Music Hall to a small group of media people including yours truly about 30 minutes ago from the start of this blog post. Sanchez fielded a set of questions starting with my query to determine if it was true he left USC early to avoid the possibility of losing to Cal this year. The Jets' newest signal called got a kick out of that one and recalled the last game played at Berkeley, a rain-soaked affair that USC won when John David Booty was the quarterback, 24-17. On the matter of how it feels to be a jet, "Oh," he sighed, "It's really special. I'm really grateful that Mr Mike Tannenbaum (Jets GM) and Mr. Woody Johnson (Jets owner) made the trade (up to the number 5th pick, trading places with the Cleveland Browns, who gave their first- and second-round picks, and adding defensive end Kenyon Coleman, safety Abram Elam and quarterback Brett Ratliff) But Sanchez added "Nothing's been accomplished yet, I've only gotten into a uniform. It's going to take a lot of practice and hard work. The underclassman Sanchez who has a 14-2 record at USC offered that the reason he came out early (he has one more year of eligibility) was a personal decision arrived at after the Rose Bowl and after talking it through with his family and his high school coach Bob Johnson. "I thought about it long and hard and ..this is what I really want to do ...

New York Red Bulls 2-1 Manchester City | Highlights

Manchester City suffered their second consecutive defeat in the USA, as the New York Red Bulls won 2-1 at the Red Bulls Arena. Roberto Mancini's side should have taken the lead inside five minutes, after a great move was suppressed at the final moments by Red Bulls stopper Bouna Coundoul. But Macoumba Kandji had City's tail between their legs minutes later, after the striker did exceptionally well to latch onto Dane Richards driven cross, to send the home fans into rapture inside the Red Bull Arena. And Thierry Henry went close to making it two on 20 minutes. The former Arsenal and Barcelona man span away from Boyata, and looked to bend the ball past Joe Hart with typical guile, but his effort just slipped wide of the post. Once again City looked destined to score. Jo and Emmanuelle Adebayor linked-up brilliantly as the Brazilian slipped the Togo striker through on goal, but just like Jo's attempt at the start of the match, Coundoul was equal to his effort, and made a fine save. Adebayor went looking for City's equaliser five minutes after the restart, cutting in from the left after receiving the ball from Wayne Bridge, but the striker's curled effort drifted wide of Coundoul's post. And City bagged their equaliser moments later. Substitute Greg Cunningham did brilliantly down the left flank for the visitors, before whipping a delightful cross into the box, and Jo was on hand to delicately swoop the ball into the back of the net. Adam Johnson was causing havoc down the ...
