Last year 3075 people were killed in Ciudad Juarez in northern Mexico. This year the figures, while still high, are lower, and that has encouraged some city officials to believe the tide of drug-related crime may have turned. They have launched a campaign to improve the city's reputation and show the world the area is getting safer, including a rock concert by Mexico's biggest band and a two-week series of business, cultural and trade events. But some residents say Juarez is still not enough to stop the violence. Al Jazeera's Rob Reynolds reports from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

The city bordering El Paso, Texas, might have once been a prosperous center for manufacturing, but today it has transformed into a major drug trafficking route, giving it the highest homicide rate in Mexico. In Ciudad Juarez, the violence is a constant, human suffering a given, and trying to understand why the city has so many problems depends on who you ask. The people who live there are justifiably weary of the violence and the near-blanket impunity enjoyed by those who perpetrate it. But then, sometimes you meet people that offer a glimmer of hope — like a group of young "angels" who since 2010, get together on weekends and sometimes during the week to stand at crime scenes and street corners, asking murderers to repent. Is it having an impact? Violence over the past year has declined. Local Juarez newspaper El Diario reports that murders in January in 2012 were half what they were in 2011. Perhaps it's just a momentarily lull, but the angels and their persistent determination suggest that Ciudad Juarez could emerge as something more than just a city of victims.

Please remember to leave a rating, helps me out a lot! This game starts randomly enough with what I imagine is a present-day-to-flashbacks style, but whatevs. So far seems like an average FPS after playing for about an hour. We'll see

I didn't think I could play a game worse than Halo Reach. Well, COJ proves me wrong and is in fact worse than Halo Reach. The funny thing about this game is that you'll have fun while playing it, but only because you'll be laughing at how bad it is. Tons of hitmarkers, clunky controls, flat graphics, poor character models, and a bland online mode are what make up COJ's multiplayer. Hopefully 2012 will prove to be a good year for multiplayer gaming because 2011 and 2010 were abortions. !xKZx!

Nicknamed 'El Diego', the head hit-man is linked to many deaths in Mexico's ongoing bloody drug war. Mexican police presented on Sunday an alleged leader of the Juarez drug cartel's armed wing linked to a deadly car bomb last year. Jose Antonio Acosta Hernandez -- also known as "El Diego" and reputed to be one of the bosses of the La Linea hit-men -- was captured in Ciudad Juarez on Friday. According to Mexico's anti-drug chief Ramon Pequeno, Acosta Hernandez was behind a cell phone-detonated car bomb that killed four people in Ciudad Juarez in July of 2010, the first attack of its kind in Mexico's drug war.
