When I woke up on Saturday morning and learned about the tragic accident of the Polish Presidential flight, I decided to devote April 10th to create a composition commemorating the 97 Polish leaders and passengers who suddenly lost their lives in a tragic plane crash. This composition represents the valiant life of President Lech Kaczynski and all he has had to endure in his fight for democracy and freedom in Poland, especially through the high-tension times with other nations. Also, in celebration of Fryderyk Chopin's 200th Anniversary and tribute to the great nation of Poland, I have included small motifs from "Chopin's Etude No. 3" (Tristese), and "Polonia" by Edward Elgar. My name is Isaias Garcia, I am a young composer from Toronto, Canada. Although I am Argentinean-Canadian, over the last 6 years I have been actively involved within the Polish community here in Toronto, performing with the Celebrity Symphony Orchestra directed by Dr. Andrzej Rozbicki, who has taught me everything I know about music and the amazing Polish culture. I have also had the great honor of playing piano at the General Consulate of Poland several times, where I have been welcomed with generous and open arms. I love Poland and I send my greatest condolences to the people of Poland in their time of mourning, and may hope and peace be restored. RIP Lech Kaczynski, his wife, and the rest of the passengers on the Polish Air Force Tu-154 plane. God bless you. www.rozbicki.com http E-mail ...
