US & hostile Arab states support terrorist in Syria

the prominent political analyst Kamel Wazne says the US and Arab states support terrorist groups against the elected Syrian government to topple President Bashar Assad from power. Press TV:Kamal Wazni, let's have your take and if you can put it into perspective for us, you have Assad who has introduced reforms including this new constitution of which 90 percent turned out. And then you have the US senator, [the Republican senator] John McCain, who is asking for the continuation of arming the opposition and then, of course, an attack on Syria. Don't you think that these efforts from the outside US-led Western-backed is hindering what Assad is trying to do in terms of trying to calm the situation, at least in terms of violence, and then pushing the country forward? Wazne: Well, obviously there's a deliberate act on the United States and some Persian Gulf countries to make impossible for the Syrians to have a peaceful transition for the crisis they're going through. Everybody admitted that Syria needed reforms. Actually the president of Syria took major steps and obviously reforming the constitution was the last in a long accomplishment for the president of Syria, and the people of Syria voted on that referendum. But for the United States and for the Israelis and some Persian Gulf countries that's not enough because what they want, they want the head of the resistance in the region to be gone.
