This is my own version of Kongurei, a rather sad song. The chords are very simple, but make the song a bit more dramatic. In this piece I used a bit of nasal kargyraa (through my nose). This makes it sound a bit darker. I believe Oidoopaa used this style as well. Things to notice: the constriction of the vestibule of the larynx; compare this to the more open area around and at the vocal folds when I stop singing, and when I speak in normal voice. Also, you can see the two levels of kargyraa phonation: at the level of the vocal folds (lower, and partially occluded, and the ventricular folds, which are vibrating ABOVE the vocal folds. A personal -and quite minimalist- version of Marian, from the Sisters of Mercy. I first recorded the 4-notes balalaika tune on a laptop, then the singing while replaying it. So it's sort of delayed live :) As for the singing I was a little chilly and I think I took it too high-pitched, so I had problems to keep the note. And it made me have funny faces. And I changed the deutsch part into a french one! And for the fans... well, excuse-me for the massacre!
