1992: Renshi Kurt Graham [6th Dan of Koryu Uchinadi under Hanshi Patrick McCarthy], training at the Yuishinkan honbu dojo in Kawasaki [Japan] with Grandmaster Sugino Yoshio [1904-1998]. In addition to being recognized as a 10th dan [IMAF], and the teacher of Mifune Toshio [the famous Japanese "Samurai" actor] Sugino studied Aikido directly under Ueshiba Morihei and opened the second Aikikai dojo in 1935, and also taught Judo at Meiji University before the war. The video was shot by his Norwegian friend, Are Larsen [aka Sozen Kusano] who also introduced him to Ernest Presas in the Philippines where he took up the cane [Arnis].
