This is my 1991 direct-drive portable Kenmore washer that I bought used last weekend. I just replaced the agitator dogs, so it's now working perfectly. The dogs were easy to replace and only cost about $5. This machine shares considerable parts with much larger washers and seems quite overbuilt. It's much heavier than new portable washers. This was about the last year of the American-made direct-drive portables from Kenmore/Whirlpool I edited this video for length. The first part shows the wash speed on "Heavy Soil." After a couple minutes, the dial moves to "Regular Soil" and the agitation slows down, I briefly showed the slower agitation speed. I cut most of the wash cycle out to show the first spin.

If you have a washer with 2 piece agitator and the top doesn't work right this is your answer. If you have a Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid or Roeper with a 2 piece agitator chances are you will eventuallly have to replace the dogs in the agitator to make it work properly. Time was about 10 minutes and it was 12 bucks for the parts with shipping. Cheaper than a new washer. I ran the info on this washer and it was from 1994, I was suprised that they still has wood grain in 94 but as far as I can tell the date was right. This machine has seen heavy usage from the previous owners as well as us, the dryer that went with it got replaced in 2001 for some reason.

This is a $950.00 [2007] Kenmore Elite Washer machine made by Sears. The machine is 3 years old and the first part of the video show the reload cycle of the machine. There was a recall to change the main board. The subcontractor technician did it. About one month after the recall was done, the problem started again and it was reported to the service telephone number which is not really a service number from Sears but instead a Service Center from a third party company who handles recalls and service calls for several manufacturers. The board was replaced again because of its malfunction. About three months after, the machine started again the crazy cycle. The service center response was that I have to pay for the service call, the parts and the repair.... so, in other words, I have to pay for a malfunction part that Sears was unable to manufacture correctly at the first time at all. I paid for lemon equipment, now I have to continue satisfying the ambition of this big guy and keep getting money out of my pocket and hand out them. In addition, the second part of the video shows how the rust had escalate. In the next few months it will become visible from outside. Oh!, Sears does not guarantee against rust. See how even some internal areas weren't painted at all as the video show on the inside top area. Out there are two brands I will never spend a penny on it and Sears is one of them. In continuation of the GoVacuum video series, we have created a video review of two vacuum cleaners. We put to the test the Miele Callisto S5280 and the Kenmore Canister Vacuum. Our decision to put these two vacuums head to head stems from the Consumer Reports magazine. For years, the Consumer Reports magazine has rated the Kenmore Canister number one. The Miele has been ranked at 5 or 6. Having many, many years of industry experience, the Consumer Reports ranking has left us baffled because the Miele Callisto is one of our best canisters because of its high quality, unbeatable performance and long life. In order to compare the vacuums, we are performing three tests with the machines. Kenmore Gas Dryer No heat trouble shooting the thermostats. Today my gas dryer stopped drying the clothes. The drum would spin and all seamed to work but I had no HEAT! After taking off the rear panel I started to check for defective parts.( I had to repair this dryer 2 years ago so I am kind of familiar with the inner-workings. ) Like the first time I checked the "easy to get to" parts, they are the thermostats. I saw on the wiring diagram that all thermostats are N/C or normally closed. So with a ohm meter in hand I started checking the stats and a small non repairable fuse. This time I lucked out...it was the fuse that controls the igniter. Bad fuse...= no ignition. If you check all mentioned parts and all are good then you will have to access the front and check the burner section. there a few items that can cause a no flame situation..Plenty of vids on U-tube for that...
