Harmony Korine's Gummo: last 8minutes: How to end your film - One Minute Film School
Harmony Korine's Gummo (1997) imagery is achingly beautiful in this final sequence with Roy Orbison's Crying and Jean-Yves Escoffier's sublime camera. The hilarious bath tub sequence with Linda Manz visibly gagging as she has to shampoo her kids hair through to end with boy with rabbit ears in pool making out with Chloe Sevigny to end credits is a minor masterpiece in film making. Gummo, a 90's new wave mockumentary of sorts is also a lesson for filmmakers to learn to say f you to critics and audiences alike. The irony is that if a director had to make the same imagery today and attach a Levi's logo at the end he would be hailed as a genius. Never be scared to end your film with something that confuses the hell out of your audience and pisses them off.

This is the international Trailer for Mister Lonely by Harmonie Korine. Mister Lonely is about a young American lost in Paris, eking out a living as a Michael Jackson lookalike. By co-incidence, he meets Marilyn Monroe. He follows her to a commune in Scotland, joining her husband Charlie Chaplin and her daughter Shirley Temple. Fellow residents include The Pope, The Queen of England, Madonna and James Dean. The drama is also partly set In a Brazilian forest where a community of missionary nuns bring aid to the locals.
