It was a magical place where these shimmering, winged behemoths lived. You could look out of the terminal windows and look upon the row after row of metal birds and wonder "What city did they come from, where are they going, what exciting adventure are these passengers whisking off to?" Beside each plane, a myriad of baggage carts, provisioning trucks and fuel tankers took part in a mystical dance ensuring that every flight could fly out on schedule. As I grew older, the novelty wore off. The airport changed from something wonderful to, well, an airport. A place where we worry about being on schedule and going through TSA lines. A place where we're usually so distracted by the task at hand, that we forget to stop and look out the window every once in a while. Watch in HD! :) Southwest 737-7H4 arriving into Dallas Love Field's runway 31L from Lubbock Texas on Christmas Morning, 12/25/2010. [Flight 9] Approach from the southwest going over the Trinity River, Downtown, and then into Love. This is a new camera and I wasn't sure how the mic would handle airplane noise. It handled everything except for reverse thrust. The winds were gusty out of the north, so there was quite a bit of turbulence on final approach.

A nearly hour long police chase with a carjacking-robbery suspect ended Thursday afternoon on an active runway at Dallas Love Field. UPDATE 11/2011 A 48-year-old Dallas man was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in federal prison Wednesday for nearly running over a security guard as he led police on a pursuit that ended on the runways of Love Field Airport. Michael Laurence Browne, 48, pleaded guilty in August to a federal charge of interference with security screening personnel after he crashed through an airport guard shack on Aug. 19, 2010 - the culmination to a crack cocaine-induced carjacking spree through North Texas. "I never intended to hurt anyone," Browne told US District Judge Barbara Lynn at his sentencing hearing. "I'm sober now and can see the stupid things I've done." Browne, who has a history of mental illness, also has state charges pending in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties for a spree of robberies, officials said. His extensive past criminal history of robbery and theft played a role in Wednesday's sentencing, the judge said.

HD DAL Construction of NEW Dallas Love Field Terminal May 21, 2011 Part 1
So this is the first Part of aa several part video project. Over the next few years I will be recoding the progress of the New Dallas Love Field Terminal from the Continental United gates. This video has two parts. The first part shows the new Construction taken from the Continental gates. The second part which starts at 1:33 shows the entire new Terminal as seen from the ramp. Both videos were shot on a Ghetto United Express CRJ-200. Pealing paint, that's something you would never seen on Continental Airlines/Express. I will upload a new video every 3 to 6 months depending on how fast the terminal is being built.

Landing Lubbock coming from Dallas Love Field Take #2
This is Southwest Airlines landing in Lubbock Airport in Lubbock, TX coming from Dallas Love Field Airport in Dallas, TX. Lubbock as u can see is all farm land. The plane landed on a different runway this time. U can see the factory and a little bit of Ransom Canyon. U can also see that the plane circled around the airport. It was sunset dusk so it might be a little blurry. On my takeoff from Lubbock video, u will see Ransom Canyon much better. U will also see the city much better. U can see that Lubbock is a miniature DFW. The plane pulls into gate 6. This aircraft is a Boeing 737-700.

High-Speed Chase Ends in Dallas Love Field Runway
A carjacking suspect was arrested beside a runway at Dallas Love Field this afternoon after an hourlong slow-speed chase that wound through Dallas streets. The chase ended shortly after 3 pm when Dallas squad cars surrounded and rammed the stolen gray pickup. As TV helicopters circled the airport, officers drew their guns before yanking the shirtless man from the vehicle and handcuffing him. The chase began about 2 pm after a carjacking in North Dallas. Officers patiently followed the pickup as it snaked through the city. But when the driver crashed through a fence and onto a Love Field runway, police quickly converged on him and ended the pursuit. The airport stopped flights from landing after the man crashed through the gate.

Layover at Love Field My layover is to be twenty-four hours in Dallas, one entire day at Love Field, killing time, sleeping in the waiting areas by walls of glass looking out onto a brilliant whiteness of runways. First, I follow the USO signage, weaving among Skycaps and the rushing vocabulary of 1972, an airman in dress blues. I'm dragging a duffle bag and a copy of Rolling Stone, Keith Moon, drummer for the Who, in top hat and tails on the cover. Moon is posed to look like the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. The headline: Unhinged British Millionaire Keith Moon Bites Back. The bright terminal is a sea of upright verticals, men and women in uniform. Judging by faces, some are about to ship out to the War. At the USO counter they want a donation for the coffee. From servicemen and -women. This is my first leave. And I'm skittish about seeing my girl, Sandy, who has stopped sending letters. Stopped answering the phone. It's December. The Lone Star State has agreed, but not promised, to behave itself, as far as the weather, long enough for me to board a jet for O'Hare where I change planes for Columbus, Ohio. I'm putting a dollar into the hand of a woman in a USO uniform whose nametag reads Sandy in a red-lettered script. Love Field might as well be Wonderland if they keep delaying my departure and bumping me from all those outgoing flights. This is turning out to be a lot of waiting. Sort of like being in love with Sandy Langford, who had done everything but fuck me <b>...</b>

This time-lapse sequence was shot at 1 frame per second. It was shot from the roof (deck) of Southwest Airlines Headquarters and begins with a segment at 6:00 am as the airport and our Headquarters are waking up. Then, it switches to mid afternoon. The 2 minute, 44 second run time represents about an hour and a half of actual time, and our famous 25-minute turn becomes a less-than-one-minute turn.
