1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S "Cannonball Run"
Written by famed auto editor Brock Yates and produced by Hal Needham, the hit film Cannonball Run was inspired by a coast-to-coast road race, which Yates organized during the early 1970s. The sexy Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman, who attempted to avoid the long arm of the law, famously drove this iconic 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S in the film. After the wrap, the Countach was purchased directly from the movie set by its current owner, who used it extensively in Hawaiian Tropic ads. Today, this exotic 1980s icon is fully serviced, and retains its original black finish. During Spa Italia at circuit Spa Francorchamps I recorded this beautiful yellow Lamborghini Countach LP400 S. This "S" model has the same engine from the LP400 model (353bhp), but Lamborghini slightly upgraded up to 375bhp. Here at The Controller Online, we don't want to ever spoil the story for anyone, so you can relax, sit back and enjoy this review. Now, in order to explain some of the games features I will need to expose a little bit about the story from the beginning. You will be playing as John Tanner a detective in San Francisco. You and your partner Tobias Jones watch as the notorious crime lord, you helped arrest, is being transported to jail, his name is Charles Jericho. Driver: SF takes place six months after "Driv3r", Jericho finds a way to escape and take control of the transport vehicle. As you chase after him, racing through an alleyway, your car is badly struck. After the accident John Tanner has the ability to leave his body and take control of any car he wants. I thought this idea was sort of, well, ridiculous at first, but then I remembered it was a video game and anything is possible. After playing the game for a few hours I realized this was actually an amazing feature, which is referred to as "Shift". When you shift you can move around the map, but you will be restricted to the roads, you can't pass over buildings or land, that ability comes as you progress through the game. The Lamborghini Countach was a mid-engined sports car produced by Italian automaker Lamborghini from 1974 to 1990. The last and most famous Miura, the P400SV or Miura SV featured different cam timing and altered carburetors. These gave the engine an additional 15 PS (11 kW; 15 hp), to 385 PS (283 kW; 380 hp). The last 96 SV engines included a limited slip differential which required a split sump. The gearbox now had its lubrication system separate from the engine, which allowed the use of the appropriate types of oil for the gearbox and the engine. This also alleviated concerns that metal shavings from the gearbox could travel into the engine with disastrous and expensive results. The SV can be distinguished from its predecessors from its lack of "eyelashes" around the headlamps, wider rear fenders to accommodate the new 9-inch-wide (230 mm) rear wheels and Pirelli Cinturato tires, and different taillights. 150 SVs were produced. There was a misprint in the SV owners manual indicating bigger intake valves in English size (but correct size in metric). The intake and exhaust valves in all 4 liter V12 Lamborghini remained the same throughout all models. This intake size misprint carried forward into Espada 400GT and Countach LP400/LP400S owners manuals as well.

I forgot I was still driving an ambulance before starting this mission. I also forgot you could use SHIFT, and take down the other racers with traffic. Derp. Still succeeded though! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Completing this activity unlocks: Lamborghini Countach LP400S There's an unexpected twist to this activity: you'll have to elude two separate instances of police pursuit. Fortunately, the police seem to do a fairly poor job of chasing after you on the freeway. A short distance in, you'll meet the first set of cars and they'll give chase. You can boost away while weaving through traffic and lose them almost immediately. Then, if you'd like to increase your odds of placing in the race, you can spend your time throwing cars from the oncoming lane at one of the two cars. Focus on either of your two opponents, since you only have to take out one of them to all but guarantee a win. Then when the second group of police come, quick shift back to your car and guide it away from the police pursuit yet again. From there, finish out the race or take out your opponents with more oncoming traffic as you see fit.
