I have filmed a Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni in Verde Ithaca (green) paintjob. The car was driven by Valentino Balboni in person, the former chief test driver of Lamborghini. He made so many nice drifts and a great burnout at the end. At a certain point the rear tyres were so consumed that started to make sparks!! It was truly epic! This very rare Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Tricolore was present at the autolife.se event at the Gothenburg city track in Sweden. I can't find much info about this car but from the looks of it, it has Superleggera styling with Balboni performance. If anyone has any info please leave it in the comments.

The special-edition Gallardo created by Lamborghini to celebrate 150 years of Italian unification this year has just arrived in Thailand. Only 150 units of the Gallardo LP550-2 Tricolore are being built by the Sant'Agata-based sports car maker. The first example to reach Thailand, finished in an eye-catching gloss white, was shown to the local press this week, presented in the boutique showroom of the official importer, Niche Cars, itself nestled in the vast Siam Paragon mall right in the heart of Bangkok's upscale city centre. "We've been allocated two cars -- one black, one white," noted Mr Wittawat Chinnabarramee, Managing Director of Niche Cars. This year has sees Italy celebrating 150 years since Garibaldi's famed exploits and battles finally paved the way for the declaration of unification to be signed in Turin on March 17, 1861, whereupon Italy's first parliament was formed. Italian companies have rushed to commemorate this milestone and Lamborghini has been no different in honouring the nation's heritage. The Gallardo LP550-2 Tricolore (named after the three colours of the national flag -- red, green and white) has been spun off the two-wheel-drive version of the V10 sports car which was named after legendary test driver Valentino Balboni. That means the Tricolore benefits from the reduced weight of the Balboni (1380 kg) thanks to its two-wheel-drive layout, meaning its stock 550 PS allows for a top speed of 320 km/h and 0-100 km dash time of 3.9 seconds. This is a limited (to 250 units) version named after Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni. The engine was rated at 550 PS (405 kW; 542 hp). The vehicle has dry weight of 1380 kg (3000 lb). Unlike the contemporary line-up, this model is rear wheel drive (because the standard all-wheel drive system was removed). It is the first Gallardo ever to use 2 wheel drive. The CORSA ESP setting allows greater drift angles over regular models. Other features include re-calibrated optional e-gear transmission, redeveloped 45% limited slip differential, full leather black upholstery with white colour strips, Polar white centre console, a stripe down the centre of the car, and a badge below the left side window bears the signature of Valentino Balboni and the production number of the car. Lamborghini typically unveils a droptop version of one of its models at the LA Auto Show, generally with a very long and very Italian name. This year is no exception, as Lamborghini has pulled the wraps off the Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder, essentially a convertible version of the Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. As described in the name, the latest Lambo features a longitudinally mounted V10 packing 550 horsepower that is driven exclusively through the rear wheels. The suspension has been specifically tuned to work with the rear-wheel-drive architecture, and aerodynamics have been slightly revised, as well, in comparison to the standard Gallardo LP570-4. Both a six-speed manual and six-speed e-gear transmission will be offered, although we're guessing most customers will opt for the flappy paddles.
