Wringin Lawang Wringin Lawang is located near to the main road at Jatipasar. The name in Javanese means 'The Banyan Tree Gate'. The grand gate portals are made from red brick, with a base of 13 x 11 metres and a height of 15.5 metres, and dated from the 14th century. The gate is a 'Candi Bentar' or split gateway type, a structure which may have appeared during the Majapahit era. Most historians agree that this structure of the gate is an important compound in the Majapahit capital. Our trip to Sumatra. We visited real jungle in Bukit Lawang. Many orangutans are there. Best experience was accident with orangutan. Her name is Mina. She wanted to steal friend's rucksack. This was very funny for us, but my friend didn't laugh. He had inside rucksack his passport and all money. Finaly everything finished good and my friend was free again.
Want to visit the Best jungle in the World! I dont know if its this one, but its the best I've ever been to.........twice! Bukit Lawang was very unforutate and suffered flash flooding on 3rd November 2003. Around 400 houses, 3 mosques, 8 bridges, 280 kiosks and food stalls, 35 inns and guest houses were destroyed by the flood, including 239 people (5 of them were tourists) were killed and around 1400 locals lost their homes.[3] Thanks to several international cooperation agencies, the site was rebuilt and re-opened again in July 2004 I visited before and after and can say they are still recovering, slowly but surely. We stayed here at the Jungle Inn - We tried out 3 different rooms, I video'd two of the best (although they're all great). This is like MTV Cribs! Just finished - the honeymoon sweet was a dream pad! I think cause it was still undergoing some minor construction on the out side, we were able to get such a good price. How ever I would of paid more any day! Please go and visit and look after the place, dont drop litter, dont feed any local animals! we got attacked by a troop of pigtailed macaques and it wasn't nice! although when we looked back - it was funny! We went on orangutang treks and saw loads of cool stuff including turtles, hornbills, snakes, lizards etc..

Lawang Sewu merupakan sebuah gedung di Semarang, Jawa Tengah yang merupakan kantor dari Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij atau NIS. Dibangun pada tahun 1904 dan selesai pada tahun 1907. Terletak di bundaran Tugu Muda yang dahulu disebut Wilhelminaplein. Masyarakat setempat menyebutnya Lawang Sewu (Seribu Pintu) dikarenakan bangunan tersebut memiliki pintu yang sangat banyak. Kenyataannya, pintu yang ada tidak sampai seribu. Bangunan ini memiliki banyak jendela yang tinggi dan lebar, sehingga masyarakat sering menganggapnya sebagai pintu (lawang). Bangunan kuno dan megah berlantai dua ini setelah kemerdekaan dipakai sebagai kantor Djawatan Kereta Api Repoeblik Indonesia (DKARI) atau sekarang PT Kereta Api Indonesia. Selain itu pernah dipakai sebagai Kantor Badan Prasarana Komando Daerah Militer (Kodam IV/Diponegoro) dan Kantor Wilayah (Kanwil) Kementerian Perhubungan Jawa Tengah. Pada masa perjuangan gedung ini memiliki catatan sejarah tersendiri yaitu ketika berlangsung peristiwa Pertempuran lima hari di Semarang (14 Oktober - 19 Oktober 1945). Gedung tua ini menjadi lokasi pertempuran yang hebat antara pemuda AMKA atau Angkatan Muda Kereta Api melawan Kempetai dan Kidobutai, Jepang. Maka dari itu Pemerintah Kota Semarang dengan Surat Keputusan Wali Kota Nomor. 650/50/1992, memasukan Lawang Sewu sebagai salah satu dari 102 bangunan kuno atau bersejarah di Kota Semarang yang patut dilindungi.
