Nutnfancy SHOT Show 2011: Beretta Set to Embarrass ACR!
Beretta swoops in from left field with the seemingly excellent ARX160 tactical carbine, set to come ashore sometime in the future. Here's a first look at this impressive little 6.5 lb carbine lb (about time someone other than Kel-Tec got the weight right!). Here you will see us check out some of its cool features: seriously quick-change barrels (which have medium profile), inside-trigger-guard bolt release, no tool takedown, on-the-fly ambi bolt handle and ejection selection (wow), ambi safety, constant-engagement piston (no carrier tilt here), full railing, and excellent balance and trigger. Granted this is a first look and the proof lies in the shooting to discover the real ergos, accuracy, and durability. But all things are looking up with the impressive ARX160, especially its slated $1500-$1700 street price (subject to change). That puts it in the same value ballpark as a Ruger SR-556. In terms of weight, simplicity of design, and value it seems like it could deliver all the things the ACR and SCAR (value) series have not. Downsides might be the thicker handguard, the slim pistol grip, and limited adjustable stock; all of which might change in the production version. The ARX160 could be a big win for Beretta. Also we manage to get the admission that a .22 ARX version IS on the way as well. In the vid and here, I admonish Beretta to look carefully at the Sig 522 on how to make such a gun reliable with most ammo; dual stainless rails on which a highly polished bolt <b>...</b>

Thievery Corporation is a Washington, DC-based recording artist and DJ duo consisting of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton and their supporting artists. Their music style mixes elements of dub, acid jazz, Indian classical and Brazilian (such as bossa nova) with a lounge aesthetic. Thievery Corporation is on the Eighteenth Street Lounge record label named after the DC club owned by Eric Hilton, but several of their singles and EPs appear on the 4AD and !K7 labels. Formed in the summer of 1995 at DCs Eighteenth Street Lounge. Rob Garza and Lounge co-owner Eric Hilton bonded over club life, dub, bossa nova and jazz records, then decided to see what would come of mixing all these in a recording studio. From this, the duo was born and their self started label Eighteenth Street Lounge Music began to emerge on an international level. The duo caught the ears of underground DJs with their first two 12 offerings, Shaolin Satellite and 2001: a Spliff Odyssey and with their 1997 debut LP, Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi, they had already begun to define a new genre of electronic music and connect with an international community of like-minded souls. Though the terminology has varied (downtempo, chill out, left field and a myriad of other permutations), they have maintained their unique musical standards for the duration of their popularity.

The Jarry Park Days - L'Époque Du Parc Jarry
In use from 1969 to 1976, Jarry Park was the selected stadium where all Montreal Expos activities would take place for the coming years even though deemed not suitable for baseball at the time. Sadly for me, it was a bit before my time as I was too young to attend any game or even remember those days. By all accounts, baseball games at Jarry Park were a lot fun guaranteed for all. Baseball was montrealers' newest toy and it mattered little to us whether the team won or lost at first. The lone opportunity to see baseball legends at play was a blessing we had only dreamed of 'til then. At last, Canada was now ready to fully embrace the american dream and be an active part of the American culture envied by so many countries throughout the world. I have never been to an Expos game at Jarry Park but looking at the pictures, you can feel the fun people still had in the stands on a cold day or the beauty of the sun setting in left field, players excited to give their best on the field and kids playing in the pool behind the right field fence while there was a game under way on a fine summer afternoon. In the end, Jarry Park was way more than a ballpark: it was a place where speaking french or english did not matter, a place where being black or white was not an issue, a place where being a woman or a man made no difference.
