It would prove to be Harrison's last studio album for five years, wherein he would largely take an extended leave of absence from his recording career, with only the occasional soundtrack recording surfacing. By 1980, Harrison had been finding the current musical climate alienating. His commercial appeal had dwindled, with 1981's Somewhere in England failing to go gold (despite featuring the John Lennon tribute smash hit, "All Those Years Ago"). With one ...

Bonzo Dog Band - I Love to Bumpity Bump

This is the fifth and final album released by the band in 1972 titled "Let's Make Up and Be Happy." The group had already disbanded when United Artists Records (which absorbed the Bonzos label Liberty Records) informed the band members that the group owed the label one more album. This farewell album was the result. In 2007, a reissue of the original release on CD by EMI with 6 bonus tracks. Most were solo recordings by the members of the group.

Keith Moon's Blue Plaque Day

On Sunday 8th March 2009, thanks to my old mate, Dave Stark (editor of Songlink magazine), I was lucky enough to attend the unveiling of a Blue Plaque at 90 Wardour Street, site of the old Marquee Club where The Who played 29 times in the 60s, with their debut having been on 24th November 1964.. Before the event we chatted to members of Keith's family, his Mum, Kit (looking great at 88), and his sisters Leslie and Linda and their families; as well as others including PJ Proby (who told me the infamous trouser split was definitely an accident!), and members of Keith's previous band 'The Beachcombers', John and Tony. Together with Roger Daltrey, Kenney Jones, and Mike Read (MC for the day), we went outside to see a big crowd of Mods with scooters (who gave a great drive past after the event), the press, and more faces from TV and the music world. These included Dougal Butler (Keith's PA), Frank Allen (The Searchers - "Needles and Pins", "Sugar And Spice", and many other hits - the band that Brian Epstein always wanted to sign, but never did), Frank Williams (the Reverend in Dad's Army), Sally Farmiloe, Gary Bushell, and the Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Louise Hyams. Later, at The Grosvenor House Hotel, we met up with former Who crew members John "Wiggy" Wolff and Chris Matthews, who, thanks to Dave, had brought along a hologram that they had made of Keith in 1978. This was last displayed at the ICA in August 1978, at an exhibition that closed a week before Keith's ...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band (also known as The Bonzo Dog Band, The Bonzo Dog Dada Band and, colloquially, as "The Bonzos") are a band created by a group of British art-school denizens of the 1960s. Combining elements of music hall, trad jazz, psychedelic rock, and avant-garde art, the Bonzos came to the attention of a broader British public through a children's television programme, Do Not Adjust Your Set. The band's formation Unusually for a band, the actual date of conception for the Bonzos is known: 25 September 1962. It was on that day that Vivian Stanshall (tuba, but later lead vocals along with other wind instruments) and fellow art student Rodney Slater (saxophone) bonded over a transatlantic broadcast of a boxing match between Floyd Patterson and Sonny Liston. Rodney Slater had previously been playing in a trad jazz band at college with Chris Jennings (trombone) and Tom Parkinson (sousaphone). Roger Wilkes (trumpet) was the founder of the original band at the Royal College of Art, along with Trevor Brown (banjo). They slowly turned their style from more orthodox music towards the sound of The Alberts and The Temperance Seven. Vivian was their next recruit and on that day in 1962, he and Rodney christened the band, The Bonzo Dog Dada Band. Bonzo the dog was a popular British cartoon character created by artist George Studdy in the 1920s and Dada after the early 20th century art movement. Not long after Vivian, Rodney and Tom ...

The Obsession (Chapter 1: Figuring it out) [Prodigy Love/Drama Story]

(If you are confused about what happened...they just performed sexual intercourse) I swiftly got up from her and began to put my clothes on frantically. While I was getting dressed, I questioned her. "What did you do!?" I shouted, regretting about what just happened. The woman laid down and arched her back and put her hand over her forehead, like she's posing for an erotic photo shoot. "It's what YOU did" she said. Her lips curved into a sexy smile, while her eyes narrowed a bit. I was confused. "What are you talking about?" she sat up, crossing her bare legs. Her breast were still exposed. "When the time comes...you'll know" her left eye winked at me. She dug down into the cracks of the couch, and pulled out my phone. "I believe this is what you came here for." she said while holding it out to me. After I finished putting my shirt on, I snatched my phone from her perfectly shaped hands. Her fingers balled into a fist. "That was rude!" she yelled. Her beautiful voice had an edge to it. "I'm sorry. Look....'Unknown Name', I have to get back to my family" I started towards the door. "Evelyn" she sang from across the room. Her voice made me face her again. "What did you say?" I asked in an eager tone. "Evelyn is what I am called" She sang louder. Her hair blew gracefully from the wind that was coming in from outside. She was definitely something you would want to look at. My daze from her singing ended from a text message.
