The Supply: Lenana Village

Lenana. Many of you have heard us talk about Lenana. You've seen Lenana on our website and our FB page. You have probably wondered what Lenana is like. We are excited because this is the first time that we get to show you this beautiful community and its residents. We want the entire Supply support group to become connected with this community and help us, together with the school, students, and families of Lenana to help in creating long-term change. Please continue to follow us as we continue to update our website, release our documentary in March, and provide you with opportunities to tangibly get involved. thesupply.org

Lunch for Lenana

Lunch for Lenana Background: Last November, the Standard 8 class of Dagoretti Youth School in the slum of Lenana, Kenya had an opportunity to take the KCPE Primary National Examination. Unfortunately, the head teacher ran away with the registration money, and all 31 students were disqualified. For all of these students, this was the pinnacle of their educational careers because there is no secondary school available for them. After hearing this heartbreaking story, The Supply has decided to build Lenana's first ever secondary school. As the students make the financial sacrifices to re-take this test, we want to provide them with an opportunity to continue their education and fulfill their dreams. We want you to join us in helping us launch this week-long campaign to finish fundraising for the secondary school and to be the supply to the large demand for education that exists in Lenana. DONATE YOUR LUNCH: www.paypal.com What's going down? Schools across the US will participate in this weeklong lunch campaign. Students will ask parents, administrators, students to forego one meal during that week and donate their lunch money. Who: High Schools across the US When: November 14 - 18. We will play our part as these students re-take the 2011 KCPE examination. Why Give up Lunch Money?: Slum orphans crave education. They often forego lunch each day to ensure that they have enough money to pay for school tuition. We can all give up one day's worth of lunch money to help raise ...

Climbing Mount Kenya - Pt Lenana

This clip presents our trip to Point Lenana (4985m ASL), which is mount Kenya's third highest summit (after Batian - 5199m and Nelion - 5188m), and is the only one of the three that requires no technical climbing skills. It is a four day trek and the scenery is just breathtaking.

Free Hugs to Build a School

NVOT Model UN has pledged to give $500 in building a school in Lenana if this video receives more than 20000 views. Please help us by sharing this video on Facebook and Twitter so we can build the first Secondary School in Lenana! They also pledge to match $500 of the donations received until Sunday, so we can receive a grand total donation of $1000 with your help! Spread the word and share the hugs everyone! :) visit our website: thesupply.org ********************************************************************* Our interns at The Supply went out to New York City to give out free hugs and bring awareness towards our cause.
