I'm not satisfied at all with this video but I simply don't have the time or feel like filming something else. Also if in the intro I sound arrogant like "I know them" it wasn't my intention. But when I started ukulele with my friends [Zak laughed, Leo Bear Creek] I have played a lot "Vampire" by Leo himself, and listened a lot to Antsy Pants CD and Kimya Dawson (those songs appear in the soundtrack)... Went to concerts and all, etc.. everything was so natural and simple. And then suddenly they were contacted to appear in the soundtrack of a movie they didn't know about, they said OK and no one predicted that Juno would have been a success... I feel proud for them of course and I'm kinda 'proud' that I knew their music before the rest of the world. Because if you want to know the little story of the soundtrack and especially Antsy Pants side project, it was just Kimya travelling to Annecy [she couldn't pronounce Annecy and said something like Antsy] and so with her french friends Angelo Spencer [now his husband], Leo, Billy, Ben... and others, they decided to record a CD just like that... And so as the soundtrack of Juno was mostly of Kimya's work, they also picked some Antsy Pants songs. I did a cover of Treehugger in 2008 that is still on myspace : myspace.com And played Vampire for Youtube twice but they are very bad versions I admit : www.youtube.com www.youtube.com So I didn't want to cover a song that I used to play all the time, I wanted a little challenge and I <b>...</b>

FORT LANGLEY CANOE CLUB (FLCC) participated in the 2011 LENGTH OF THE LAKE ULTRA-PADDLE - a 100 km relay canoe race on Okanagan Lake, BC, Canada from Vernon to Penticton in a 6 person outrigger canoe (OC6). LEG 1 - a distance of 16 km from Kin Beach at Vernon to Shorts Point (aka Fintry) with relay paddlers Brenda, Darrell, Dave, Jaye, Rita and Terry B. LEG 2 - a distance of 24 km from Shorts Point (aka Fintry) to Bear Creek Park with relay paddlers Allie, Cheryl, Glenn, Grant, Leo and Neil. LEG 3 - a distance of 24 km from Bear Creek Park to Peachland with relay paddlers Carol, Cindy, Joanne, Mark, Steve and Terry T. LEG 4 - a distance of 20.5 km from Peachland to Summerland with relay paddlers Betty, Gavin, Gralin, Jonathan, Scott and Tanya. LEG 5 - a distance of 15.5 from Summerland to Penticton with relay paddlers Cindy, Darrell, Dave, Grant, Leo and Terry B. This was Fort Langley Canoe Clubs first participation in the Length of the Lake race. Great September weather, with challenges of waves and headwinds. There were no hulis and each leg had a safe trip. With a proud showing on their first try, it just might mean the start of something for future years. I am rebelious and so instead of playing a rock&roll song (even if I love this kind of music), I play a song called rock&roll by Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground. I know my singing and my playing are not the best, I was just back from Paris and didn't have the time to find and learn a song, so this is a raw video in ONE take as after the neighbour came to meet me and I talked to her. I look very scared and shy because I'm like this in real life, so I guess it's the first time you see that the confidence in my videos is due to the fact I feel safe in my room (and afraid of people outside). So actually, because of this video, I socialized with a 17yo girl living in my building and she played piano to me and she sings very well, (she gave me her MSN, hehe) and so I thought that it wasn't necessary to record a better version of this song because I look funny when I'm scared.
