They are distrustful, after being deceived by Javert. Valjean is astonished to see his nemesis there, captive, and Enjolras (Boromir) warns him that if Valjean tries to betray them, his fate will be the same as Javert's. A battle ensues, and the city soldiers retreat. Exultant, they begin celebrating, and ask Valjean what they can do for him. Valjean asks that the prisoner Javert be turned over to him, so that he may deal with him. Javert is proud, bitter, and taunts Valjean. But Valjean unties him instead, telling Javert he's free. Certain of some trick and unable to believe Valjean's goodness, the Chief Inspector tells him he'll always be a criminal, and that he will always hunt him. To this, Valjean replies that he expects nothing in return, he knows Javert will do what he must to fulfill his duty. They part. Lord of the Rings crossed with Les Misérables! The FIRST VIDEO. After nineteen years in a hellish prison, Valjean (played by Aragorn) is released on parole -- by Chief Inspector Javert (played by the Witchking, who gives him the ominous warning to never forget his name or what Javert represent: the Law. NOTES: 1. This video is the first in the entire LOTR / Les Mis series I will be doing. It's a huge project, converting Lord of the Rings to Les Misérables, but I'm quite enjoying it and I hope you do too! 2. This is actually a 12-minute video, but I had to split it up. The next part will be uploaded immediately! 3. As you can see, this video is unlike ANYTHING I've ever done, with the tone and visuals. I tried to make the prison the last place you'd ever want to be, filled with misery enough to make you cringe! It was really different, picking out the pieces of footage that normally I never go through while making videos (eg. caverns of Isengard). 4. All the shots of Aragorn were chosen very carefully. For instance, I never wanted him to look clean and someplace peaceful. (I've always thought that what you choose to show makes an impact on the viewer psychologically, whether they realize it or not, LOL). And after Valjean is released, I wanted to show places with water, as if after leaving that terrible place, the viewer can breathe and relax as if the mind is also being cleansed with water. 5.
