Michael Moore Tonight at Liberty Plaza: 'The American People Agree with Us' (10/20/11 - Part 1)

"You have started one of the most important movements in the history of this country. That's because this country was established as a democracy. That meant that We the People were to govern. And that those who represent us in Washington are only there by the will of the people. Every single public opinion poll shows that the vast majority of the American people agree with us, here in Liberty Plaza. We are here as representatives and stand-ins for that vast majority of people who can't be here tonight. But I'm here to tell you, having traveled across this country in the past few weeks: There are so many people grateful for you being their stand-ins. Thank you!" -- Michael Moore at day 34 of Occupy Wall Street, Thursday, October 20th, 2011 Occupying the Internets at www.michaelmoore.com

Occupy Wall Street Chris Hedges Liberty Plaza Audio Sync Fixed & Filtered FULL

www.livestream.com Chris Hedges makes a surprise appearance on Wall Street and discusses the rudimentary and deep seated problems underlying the country. He answers questions about what he believes is wrong and how we can change things for the better to turn the country around. He makes some alarming claims yet nothing is quite as alarming when you consider the direction the country is heading. Extreme problems often require extreme solutions, to fix a system that has shown itself to be unfixable. Which means we must explore all the options of saving America from it's downward trend into an abysmal and terrifying future, if nothing is done soon to put things right. This requires a completely NEW approach and most importantly a NONE violent one, yet their are forces at work here that seem to be determined to prevent any form of radical change from taking place. We know that the system itself has repeatedly shown it's abysmal failure so why is it so afraid of these young people, that it should choose to march against them? And attempt to silence what little voice they have? Let us find out shall we?

"I'm gonna go talk to Keith Olbermann now because it's been my job since the beginning to get the mainstream media to cover this event, this uprising, this rebellion for the people. And I am honored to be just one citizen amongst many. Thank you for being here. Thank you for being part of this with me. I'm so happy to be part of this with you. We're all equals here. Let's keep our voices strong. Let's not ever give up. This struggle may be long. "Just boggles the mind", Michael Moore at Occupy Wall Street, MSNBC Lawrence O'Donnell Highlight

After what the individuals in these highrises did, back in 2008, when they crashed this country, right in to the ground, and they just runined it, millions more without work, millions lost their pensions, just total calamity and chaos for the last three years in this country. To this day, not a single one of them arrested, not one of them, not one of them, but on saturday, 100 of these citizens who were being non-viotelnt, they were arrested. How can I live in a country that arrests a 100 non-violent people and doesn't arrest a single of these bankers or the people that caused this collapse. Just boggles the mind. uslaw.com

14th October 2011 - Occupy Wall Street - Liberty Plaza Cleaning Postponed

This morning at Liberty Plaza, New York, the Occupy Wall Street movement had a small victory. The intended, much vaulted 'eviction' at about 6.00am in order for Brookfields to clean up was halted and postponed in the presence of thousands of OwS supporters. Thoughts go to the smaller occupy groups in the USA, who are having a tougher time. Thanks again to the livestream team for recording this moment. www.livestream.com

#OccupyWallStreet: Man assaulted, hidden from Press, denied lawyer. 10.14.11

Occupy Wall St March of 14.10.11. At apx 6:30 am, it was announced in the General Assembly (GA) that Brookfield Properties was not going to force an eviction under the guise of "park-cleaning". Around 7:30 or so, the pent-up energy of the hundreds of protestors packed cheek to jowl exploded into two unscheduled and, as usual, unpermitted marches: one going north on Broadway, the other going south. This is footage from the south-bound march. In front of 33 Beaver St, the protestors, fed up from harassment eariler in the day, and being chased and herded by a phalanx of cop-cycles, decided to turn in protest and stand their ground. There were a good many hot-heads on both sides. As you can see, a few protestors pushed the cycles, resulting in escalation which suddenly resulted in a rush-attack by the police. Key points to notice here: 1) The protestor who you can see getting arrested is mostly passive. 2) The aggressiveness of the protestors in no way justifies the brutality seen here and in later clashes. 3) The Press is denied access to view and record the beating, arrest, and handling of this protestor. indeed, they are chased off with night-sticks. 4) The (green-hat) member of the lawyers guild was denied access to protect her client.
