However it was his second Master, Grandmaster Li Bingci, the 4th descendent of Wu style Taijiquan, who moulded him, through the use of an extremely rigorous training regime, into a nine-time National Champion of competitive Taijiquan in Wu Style. Grandmaster Li Jing Wu (1913-1997), renowned for his mastery of Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun styles, continued to mentor him and refine his technique. And Master Wang Shixiang entrusted him with the unique techniques of Xiyiquan and Baquazhang. Also proficient in the practise of "Push Hand"," Animal Imitation Boxing" and weapons, shiifu Liu Wei has won a total of 34 gold medals in competitions both domestic and international. His level of Wu Style Taijiquan has been recognized as the official standard in China.
