OCCUPY LONDON - Police Criticised For Using Disproportionate Force On Protesters

Some anti-capitalist protesters have accused police of using disproportionate force, as officers tried to stop a camp being set-up near the Stock Exchange in the City of London. Hundreds of demonstrators, who are angry at the influence of banks on Government policy, want to occupy the financial district. The movement - which originally started in the US financial centre Wall Street - is now spreading across the world, including in Rome where protests turned violent. On Saturday, thousands of people descended on the area around London's Stock Exchange in an attempt to replicate large Occupy Wall Street demonstrations taking place in New York. Around 300 protesters are thought to have spent the night in tents outside St Paul's Cathedral, after police cordoned off the home of the exchange in Paternoster Square. Portable toilets, a make-shift kitchen, a first aid centre and a press tent were also set up. The demonstrators taking part in the Occupy London Stock Exchange protest have told Sky News they plan to stay "for as long as it takes". Scotland Yard had said it would be "illegal and disrespectful" to camp in front of the cathedral. But a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police later said: "We are not going to move anyone at this time." The force also said no complaints had been received but "if anyone feels they have been unfairly treated by police they are entitled to make a complaint at a police station or online at met.police.uk". Occupy Suspects: Police brand campers a terror threat ~ 'Occupy London'

From: RussiaToday on Dec 9, 2011 youtu.be Narco-terrorists, suicidal jihadists, and Occupy London? While few would see any connection between peaceful British activists protesting economic inequality and the world's most notorious terrorist groups, London police beg to differ. RT on Twitter twitter.com RT on Facebook www.facebook.com .......................................................................... Police in City see occupiers as 'terror' risk Kevin Rawlinson Monday, 5 December 2011 The City of London Police force was facing criticism last night after including the Occupy London demonstration in a letter warning businesses about potential terrorist threats. The letter, a "Terrorism/Extremism Update", lists al-Qa'ida, the Colombian dissidents Farc, and Belarusian terrorists who bombed the Minsk underground. It also lists Occupy London under the heading "Domestic". It states: "It is likely that activists aspire to identify other locations to occupy, especially those they identify with capitalism. City of London Police has received a number of hostile reconnaissance reports concerning individuals who would fit the anti-capitalist profile. All are asked to be vigilant regarding suspected reconnaissance, particularly around empty buildings." An Occupy London spokesman said: "Activism is not a crime and the desire to participate in democratic decision-making should not be a cause for concern for the police in any free society. Right to Travel - Encounter with London Police

This is a video to prove that I will stand up for my rights, and I hope it empowers others to do the same. We are peaceful, loving, children of Earth. I would like to thank the London Police for being so peaceful and understanding, although some in their group seem to be quite the opposite, we do not let it reflect onto the rest of them. We have been harassed a lot unfortanutely, even though we are doing this for everyone on this great Earth, and they just don't seem to understand we will not represent legal/corporate identities on a piece of paper, WE ARE NOT PERSONS AND WILL *NOT* CONSENT TO BE PART OF THEIR "SOCIETY". Anyways, the officers in this video should be proud, and although some things have happened recently to me and my family regarding harassment, we know it is those in charge, not the loving men and women on the front-line. We love everyone like brothers and sisters, and one day, hopefully our Earth will be how God intended, peace and abundance for all! Thanks to all my supporters and those who "fight" for our freedom the right way, the peaceful loving way. We have been called paper terrorists for a while now... I ask you this... how is that possible? How is it possible to be a "terrorist" using paper if the papers we are using have no power according to the governments? That is like saying, that man is a squirt gun terrorist!!! We have reached a place in human evolution where we know either something must be done, or we will be doomed to have our rights ...

LONDON UNREST:Anarchists clash with London police - MAR 26/27,2011

IGIC (INFORMUNIVERSE): Violence that continued late into last night has overshadowed yesterday's massive anti-government cuts demonstrations in central London. While between 400000 and 500000 people marched peacefully in the capital, in areas of the West End hundreds of activists clashed with police. Riot police fought protesters at high profile landmarks including the Ritz hotel, Fortnum and Mason and in Trafalgar Square. Missiles were thrown, graffiti was daubed on walls and some attempted to damage the square's London 2012 Olympic clock. On Oxford Street and Regent Street the anarchists stopped traffic, smashed windows and threw paint and fireworks. Branches of the HSBC and Santander banks were also targeted. London Riots - Manchester Riot Police Beat Teenagers On Bikes

Taken at 10.15pm on August 9th, 2011, in Manchester. Tactical Aid Unit London Riot Police beat alleged teenage rioters on bicycles try to flee city centre, and blockade the street. The sound you can hear in the background is the helicopter overhead, which had been hovering around the area for about 10 minutes, tracking them with its spotlight. The man on the bike gets up on his own, and is ushered to the side of the road by a policeman. Another man with a bike is questioned, and allowed to continue on. After seeming to question those they had caught for a few minutes, the two teams met at the top of the hill and left with the TAU van, heading back towards the city centre. 'Snatch Squads' Caught On Camera At London Student Rally

A YouTube video shot during the November 9 student rally in London allegedly shows plainclothes police acting as agents provocateurs among the protesting crowds. The video uploaded by the user "noshockdoc" shows two people who first engage in rough handling of one of the rally protesters. Then, reportedly, the same people are shown along with six others detaining someone behind a police cordon. The media dubbed the November 9 march against tuition fees and education cuts one of the most intensively-policed events to take place in London. The force had 4000 officers on duty on the day, and they were authorized to use rubber bullets if necessary. This was never needed, however. The Met reported that 24 arrests were made on the day. Some of the protesters reported incidents of violence which they said had been caused by the security forces. "The police tried to provoke people to react violently, and some people had to act in self-defense against police attacks, but we all supported one another and prevented the police from causing a riot," one of the activists, identified only as 'Dan', told the Oxford University student newspaper Cherwell.
