REQUESTED BY MRSILENTPRINCE23 ------ Louis XVI (23 August 1754 -- 21 January 1793) ruled as King of France and Navarre from 1774 until 1791, and then as King of the French from 1791 to 1792. Suspended and arrested as part of the insurrection of 10 August during the French Revolution, he was tried by the National Convention, found guilty of high treason, and executed by guillotine on 21 January 1793 as a desacralized French citizen known as "Citoyen Louis Capet". He is the only king of France ever to be executed. Although Louis XVI was beloved at first, his indecisiveness and conservatism led some elements of the people of France to eventually view him as a symbol of the perceived tyranny of the Ancien Régime and gave him the nickname Oncle Louis ("Uncle Louis"). After the abolition of the monarchy in 1792, the new republican government gave him the surname Capet, a nickname in reference to Hugh Capet, the founder of the Capetian dynasty -- which the revolutionaries interpreted as a family name.

My first tribute to Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette and their children : - Marie-Thérèse Charlotte "Madame Royale" (1778-1851), the only surviving member of the Royal Family. - Louis-Joseph : Dauphin of France (1781-1789) who died because of tuberculosis - Louis-Charles "Louis XVII" : Dauphin of France (1785-1795) who died in the Temple's tower - Sophie-Béatrice "Madame Sophie" (1786-1787) This video is also dedicated to Madame Élisabeth (1764-1794), Louis XVI's sister, who decided to follow her brother and his family in death. This is the third installment of the history series, Victims of History, featuring Louis XVI. I have received a few complaints about not being able to understand what is being said in the videos so I decided to adjust the voice synthesizer some. I also have another version of this video where there is no voice synthesizer applied at all except for the intro. *For future episodes I will have both versions available. Enjoy!

At the death of Louis XV, the new king was only 20 years old and Marie-Antoinette 19. Trianon became their refuge, away from protocol and court life.

A short rap about Louis XVI in a SNL style digital short. Done for a school project. Lyrics: My name is LOUIS To the XVI If you dont listen to me then your gonna die Im about to be dead But ill be back again Gonna rap this rap and rot your brain Im the ruler of France and born in Versailles Gonna tax your brains out till the day you die I was forced upon France's debt and loans Didnt wanna be king scared me to the toes Born and raised in the old France hood Neglected, rejected never understood But as I grew up I sorta learned to rule the power you see will make you drool I didnt enjoy making king-like visions. I hunted and carved more than making good decisions You may know my wife Marie Antoinette Helped me make the descisions I so do regret Marie: Say What?! I loved my husband cause he had lots of cash spent France's money spent it all in a flash I was known for my really large hair So big it could store A POODLE... Arrested for treason and crimes against the state I was put on trial and there was no debate I was immediately sent to execution this isnt right its not the solution Executioner: Any last words? Louis: You are putting an Innocent man to death but I accept that taking my last breath. Executioner: Anything else? Louis: No... Oh wai- [guillotine chop]

His Most Christian Majesty King Louis XVI of France and Navarre. Born in 1754 he succeeded his grandfather Louis XV as king in 1774. His intervention in the American Revolution was critical to the winning of independence by the United States. After 1791 he was forced to become a more limited monarch as the French Revolution began to grow in strength. The following year he was deposed and arrested. In 1793 the National Convention ordered his execution by the guillotine. Historians have since admitted the gross injustice of this as Louis XVI was a good man, well intentions, effectively delivered a disaster on a plate and told to deal with it. His death signalled the start of the "Terror" in France, a period of unmatched chaos and butchery. Today he is remembered as a martyr for the French monarchy and a symbol of the old Kingdom of France that was swept away by the horrors of the Revolution.

Documentary film by Elizabeth Reta on the reconstruction of a historical pedal harp in the studio of Swiss harp maker Beat Wolf. The film-intro was recorded at the International Harp Exhibition 2001 in Lucerne. The film shows all steps of work for the single action harp in 7 stages: from wood storing over all the wood works up to varnishing; further from all metal work for pedals and mechanism up to the finished instrument, which is finally rehearsed by a harpist.

A video dedicated to Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. It's about how Louis would escape from court life by going hunting and such, and how Marie felt so lonely when he would go. She would party and spend money to try to fill the emptiness of not having a child and her feelings that he didn't care for her. Based on Arthur C. Clarke's story The Sentinel, Kubrick and Clarke's screenplay is structured in four movements. At the "Dawn of Man," a group of hominids encounters a mysterious black monolith alien to their surroundings. To the strains of Strauss's 1896 Also sprach Zarathustra, a hominid invents the first weapon, using a bone to kill prey. As the hominid tosses the bone in the air, Kubrick cuts to a 21st century spacecraft hovering over the Earth, skipping ahead millions of years in technological development. US scientist Dr. Heywood Floyd (William Sylvester) travels to the moon to check out the discovery of a strange object on the moon's surface: a black monolith. As the sun's rays strike the stone, however, it emits a piercing, deafening sound that fills the investigators' headphones and stops them in their path ...

A tribute to Marie Antoinette and Lous XVI. On May 16, 1770, the 14 year old Austrian Maria Antonia married the Dauphin of France, Louis Auguste. It was not until seven years later that the marriage was finally consummated. Louis had been taught as a child to mistrust his austrian wife. However, the two did develop an affection for each other, which in the earlier years was, I believe, more like to friends at school rather than a romantic relationship. However, in my opinion, love did develop between the two. They had four children together. The most obvious proof of this is that, during the French revolution, Marie Antoinette had many a chance to leave her husband with her children which would have saved her life. She chose to remain with her husband and always refused to take part in any escape plan that did not include him. After Louis' execution her eldest daughter, said that -"She no longer had any hope left in her heart or distinguished between life and death."- Although the 2006 movie was only loosely based on Marie Antoinette's story, I liked the way Louis and his wife were protraryed. It got the point across that they loved each other, without turning it into that awful, sex driven, hollywood kind of love. Song:C'est le début (French version of the song "At the Beginning" from the movie Anatasia)
