Director: Super Spy -Stephen Chow Sing-Chi, Lee Lik-Chee A tonnage of verbal comedy can't offset the fact that this Stephen Chow film works on both physical and emotional levels. Slow to start and rough around the edges, the film still rounds into one of Chow's most satisfying yet. Stephen Chow stars in (and co-directs) this wacky spy flick that's more Casino Royale than From Russia with Love. Chow plays dumb but cool as pork vendor/secret agent Ling Ling Chat (007), a forgotten Mainland agent called into action when some dinosaur bones go missing. Ubiquitous Anita Yuen shows up as his Hong Kong partner, who also happens to be double-agent working for the opposition. She's assigned to kill him, but slowly starts to melt before his strange, non-sensical charms. Meanwhile, any semblance of an actual plot is destoyed beneath various timeouts for physical and verbal gags. And there's laughter. The pairing of Chow plus Yuen yields surprising laughs, though their chemistry is nonexistent to begin with. The film starts deceptively slow, and appears to go nowhere through the first half-hour. However, when things pick up, they pick up incredibly well. Chow's superspy is more fool than fantastic, but he manages to create a thoroughly loveably spy savant who packs more toughness than even the viewer can imagine. As the assassin in paw-print pajamas, Anita Yuen seems miscast, but her comedic charms prove an excellent foil to Chow's inanity. What makes the film a bit tough for casual <b>...</b>

1976 album Terry Huff and Special Delivery The Lonely One Originally called Act 1, the group Special Delivery was a rotating bunch of Washington DC-based singers that had a brief moment in the spotlight in 1976. Led by falsetto singer Terry Huff, the group had its first hit around the Huff-written ballad "I Destroyed Your Love." The six minute song (split up into parts for both sides of the 45) only made it halfway up the Soul charts, but was an absolute gem, with excellent harmonies behind Huff's sweet falsetto voice. It may be one of the greatest sweet soul cuts of the 70s, with the appeal of some of the top Stylistics and Chi-Lites cuts. The song continued to live on after its initial run, and is still a regular on Urban Adult Contemporary radio 30+ years after its introduction.

I Can't Make You Love Me -- Bonnie Raitt tune
This song may seem a little bit off the beaten path compared to the jazz tunes I usually post. When I posted "You Don't Know What Love Is", I commented that it is the saddest song I know. Soon after that I heard Bonnie Raitt singing this song on the radio. I had probably not heard it since it came out. What struck me was the depth of sadness in her delivery and how powerfully written it is. The chord sequencing is truly unusual for a pop song. I had never played it before, so I learned it from her album. Bruce Hornsby plays piano on her version and is, of course, brilliant in his understated delivery. This song easily allows for improvisation, which is an indicator of a very well constructed tune. This was written by Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin.

Dev Anand (born 26 September 1923) is a famous Indian Bollywood actor, director and film producer. Dev is the second of three brothers who were active in Bollywood. His elder brother Chetan Anand was a film director, as was his younger brother, Vijay Anand. Their sister, Sheel Kanta Kapur, is the mother of renowned Hindi and English film director Shekhar Kapur. Dev was offered his first big break by Ashok Kumar.
