Remington's M24A2 Sniper Rifle - The Long Range Killer
In military and law enforcement terminology, a sniper rifle is a rifle used to ensure accurate placement of bullets at longer ranges than small arms. A typical sniper rifle is built for optimal levels of accuracy, fitted with a telescopic sight and chambered for a military centerfire cartridge. The term is often used in the media to describe any type of accurized firearm fitted with a telescopic sight that is employed against human targets. The military role of sniper (a term derived from the snipe, a bird which was difficult to hunt and shoot) dates back to the turn of the 18th century, but the sniper rifle itself is a much more recent development. Advances in technology, specifically that of telescopic sights and more accurate manufacturing, allowed armies to equip specially-trained soldiers with rifles that would enable them to deliver precise shots over greater distances than regular infantry weapons. The rifle itself could be a standard rifle (at first, a bolt-action rifle); however, when fitted with a telescopic sight, it would become a sniper rifle.

The M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS) is the military and police version of the Remington 700 rifle, M24 being the model name assigned by the United States Army after adoption as their standard sniper rifle in 1988. It is also used by the Israeli Defence Forces. The M24 is referred to as a "weapons system" because it consists of not only a rifle, but also a detachable telescopic sight and other accessories. The M24 was designed to use the "long-action" version of the Remington M700 BDL. This was chosen because the Army wanted the ability to rebarrel the rifle from 7.62 NATO to the .300 Winchester Magnum cartridge if needed, which required a long action receiver.[2][3] Due to using a short action cartridge in a long action receiver and magazine box, rounds must be pushed to the rear of the magazine in order to ensure reliable feeding. The M24 originally came tapped for the Leupold Ultra M3 10x40mm fixed-power scope, which came with a circle-shaped etched-glass reticle. This was later replaced in 1998 by the cheaper Leupold Mk.4 LR/T M3 10x40mm first focal plane fixed-power scope with a mil-dot reticle.[4] The first number is the scope's magnification (10) and the second number in millimeters (40mm) is the diameter of the objective lens. A fixed power scope has only one magnification (eg, 10x) and a variable power scope can be adjusted to focus between a range of magnifications (eg, 3-9x is adjustable from a minimum power of 3x to a maximum power of 9x). Battlefield Bad Company 2 (Demo) M24 Sniper Montage HD
This was my first HD video, and it's just a quick M24 Sniper minitage. I downloaded the demo, and played it for a total of about 3 hours, and these were the best clips that I got from that time. I wasn't expecting to like this game or to be very good at it, but I think I got some pretty nice clips here. I just threw these clips together and added some music. Somehow, though, I think this just might be the best Battlefield BC2 Demo montage out there. Side note: I played BC1 for a total of about 20 minutes back when that was released, but other than that, this was my first time playing any Battlefield game. Comment, rate, and subscribe. The United States Marine Corps also employs another variant of the Remington 700 as their standard issue sniper rifle, with the model name M40. The main difference between the M40 and the M24 is that the M24 uses the "long" version of Remington 700 receiver versus the M40's "short action". The M40's short receiver is dedicated to cartridges that do not exceed the length of the issue 7.62x51mm NATO round. The M24 SWS is to be replaced with the M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System, a contract awarded to Knight's Armament Company. However, the Army still plans on acquiring M24s from Remington until February 2010.

Combat Arms: M24A3 Review - Baxstar
Hey guys, it's Baxstar here with another review. This is the M24A3, a great sniper rifle, with amazing accuracy. The only bad things about this sniper IMO, is the fact that it IS bolt action, while still only have about an 80% chance for a 1 hit kill. But other than that, it has AMAZING accuracy (the best out of any other gun), Awesome portability, and good fire rate (for a bolt action). Highly recommended to all, it's probably my #1 favourite sniper rifle, although I don't think it's the best (I still think the M107CQ SE beats all the rest).
