"Addressing the Immigration Dilemma" - All Saints Church, Pasadena - July 4, 2010

"A National Constitutional Crisis: Arizona's Racial Profiling, Anti-Immigrant Law, SB 1070" Thomas A. Saenz A special briefing with Thomas A. Saenz, MALDEF President and General Counsel. Date: Sunday, July 4, 2010 Time: 10:15 AM Location: All Saints Church, Pasadena 132 North Euclid Avenue Pasadena, CA 91101 It's no secret that Latinos and other immigrants across the nation are facing escalating threats to strip them of their civil rights and personal security. Nowhere is this danger more apparent than in Arizona. Nearly two months ago, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into law SB 1070, an extreme discriminatory, anti-immigrant law. SB 1070 requires police to demand 'papers' from anyone stopped who fits the profile of someone "unlawfully present" in the United States. Unless suspended, SB 1070 will go into effect on July 29.
