Visit: www.miniatur-wunderland.com Miniatur Wunderland From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Miniatur Wunderland (German for miniature wonderland) is a model railway attraction in Hamburg, Germany and the largest of its kind in the world. As of January 2011, the railway consists of 12000 metres (39370 ft) of track in HO scale, divided into seven sections: Harz, the fictitious city of Knuffingen, the Alps and Austria, Hamburg, America, Scandinavia, and Switzerland. Of the 6400 square metres (68889 sq ft) of floorspace, the model takes 1150 m2 (12378 sq ft). By 2020, the exhibit is expected to have reached its final construction phase, including at least a total of ten sections in a model area of over 2300 m2 (24757 sq ft). The next section covering an airport opened in May 2011. The exhibit includes 890 trains made up of over 11000 carriages, 300000 lights, 215000 trees, and 200000 human figurines. The creators are planning to work on models of Italy and France after the airport section is completed. Possible future additions include Africa, England, or a futuristic landscape.

Well it took three days where I worked for about 1-2 hours a night rather than one whole evening of work as I had originally planned but I ran out of supplies and had to wait one day to get to AA Hobbies, the hobby shop in Warwick, RI and get what I needed to complete my project. The final video PHASE III will be done over the next week when I take the time to get to it and test all the track out with the engines. So before Phase III video you will see a video of trains going around the layout after I work out any bugs that I may come upon.

I went into Home Depot a couple of days ago with the pure intention to come up with a better item I could convert into Throttle pockets and I found it! It is the BEST most perfect way to make throttle pockets! Yo for 47 cents you just can't go wrong! And at $5 a piece shipped from me is so much better than $9 a piece PLUS Shipping makes them come out to $12.20 a piece!! WTF!!

OK so I could not just stay away for the full 4 month time period I said on here and on my website. I have found myself slowly gravitating back to model railroading projects and as time passes at the academy I am getting more time to do a little bit of model railroading on the weekends. Seeing Steam on my layout is MAD RARE and that engine is NEVER going to ride the rails on my layout. It is not mine and i do not run or own any steam engines. So enjoy this video while you can. :)

Well your boy Al just couldnt stop at the airbrush weathering. I had to COMPLETE the weathering process by adding the powders. I had to give these a 3 dimensional effect and the only way you can really achieve that is to apply weathering powders. So when I returned home from work I finished weathering the engine cars. anyway I really like the end results better using powders. However i will not knock the airbrush for the fading process. I will continue to use the airbrush to quickly fade my models before I weather them with the powders.

Well here is the 2nd and final part of the OFF THE HOOK day trip the Mohegan & Pequot Railroad Club and I took on Saturday March 10, 2012. we went from the Danbury, Ct Railroad museum all the way to north Haledon in New Jersey to see the Garden State Model Railroad Clubs layout on their Open House day. I have to say the video quality is certainly low and that is because the lighting in the place was simply horrifically dim. I was squinted the whole time. I didn't get many good quality photos taken either because of the low light. The scenery was decent and the guys were cool. The overall trip was mad fun!

Every Thursday I go to Larry's house and we work on his layout. This week I spent more than 2 hours isolating the frogs on the turnouts since they are cut at the top and bottom. I only isolated the top rails by installing a piece of .20 styrene.
