"The Riff Song" (as wonderfully sung by Gordon MacRae) comes from the operetta "The Desert Song", which contains music by Sigmund Romberg and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Otto A. Harbach and Frank Mandel. Several movie adaptations have been made, including one from 1953 starring Kathryn Grayson and (you guessed it!) Gordon MacRae.

My friends, This is the second of two memorial video's for my Grandparents. This is for my Nan. The matriarch of the family! She always seemed to scare me, when I was a wean... But now I am grown up to see that is was the whole family who was mindful of the power she had over all of us!! Including my Grandfather... The song is off Jo and Gordon's duet album (originally released in 1962) entitled 'Whispering Hope'. This version always had been my nan's favourite song and like the video I put together for my Grandfather it has taken many weeks of tears and sorrow to make this and have the courage to Upload it. So I ask you to take a moment and reflect on the music and words when you watch to this video. I miss you Nan :'-( Regards, GC88 Ps For those that don't know; The Old Rugged Cross is a popular Christian song written in 1912 by evangelist and song-leader George Bennard (1873-1958).

Johnny MacRae - "Such a fool" (1962) - Teenage song. Johnny's first release came on Candix label with "Betcha Johnny knows" in 1960. In 1962, he recorded "Such a fool" on Landa label. The flipside was "Parade of fools". He also wrote many songs.

I created this video in remembrance of the popular movie star and singer of the 1950s to the 1980s and maybe still today, Gordon Macrae, who passed away in January 1986. He was a man of many talents with many ways to show it. He will always be remembered as one of the great voices of the 1950s and so on.

This is one of Gordon MacRae's finest moments of all time. This shows, truly, what a fantastic voice he had, and is such a tragedy that he coincidently died of mouth cancer. This is the part where Billy has just found out that Julie is pregnant with his baby and he's prepared to take on life threatening descisions that changed his life for ever. xoxo This belongs to Fox and Rodgers & Hammerstein.
