This is a little video we at LEAF made to give credit to all the other Environmental GCs at UWCSEA. It is also a PSA about Earth Week, and how you (the average student) can help out. During Earth Week, you may want to: 1. Try making your very own RECYCLED HANDICRAFTS! LEAF will be holding a workshop on Tuesday (after school) to demonstrate how to make knick-knacks, widgets and thingamajigs with stuff lying around your house, especially focusing on how to make absolutely phabulous goodies with unused PLASTIC BAGS. 2. Plan out some environmental goals for the year ahead. 3. Use public transport, instead of taking a private car. 4. Go Vegetarian! There's PAW, Promoting Animal Welfare, which raises awareness about issues such as the illegal wildlife trade, bear bile farming and animals in entertainment. It also raises funds for nonprofits like ACRES and the SPCA. Tiger Watch is a GC committed to showing the world about the plight of the majestic tiger, and is helping to stop its extinction. Poseidon supports many different causes related to ocean wildlife and the conservation of our seas. Finally, LEAF is a GC that aims to directly better the environment by campaigning to reduce the environmental impact of the school and its students.
