The time is 1947, on the twilight of the British raj, and the Hindu fisherman Kuber briefly accepts the offer by Hossain to take some of the community's goods from the island. In the process of getting the cargo, he gets to see what the colony is like and, even though he is fully aware of the gripes of a former colony member and the limitations of it, comes to share some of the utopian vision. Folk songs Bangla folk music has a long history. Several people contributed to what has become one of the most important musical influences in lives of Bengalis on both sides of the (West Bengal-Bangladesh) border. Among these are Lalon Fokir, Hason Raja and Ramesh Shill. Abbas Uddin was a key player in popularising folk music later on. "Khushboo" [1975] is an Indian Hindi film directed by Gulzar. Starring Hema Malini, Jeetendra, Sharmila Tagore, Durga Khote, Farida Jalal, Chandrima Bhaduri, Sarika, Leela Mishra and Asrani. Music is by RD Burman. Lyrics by Gulzar........... Kishore Kumar ( Hindi: किशोर कुमार) (August 4, 1929 October 13, 1987) was Indian film playback singer and actor. Along with Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi, he dominated Indian film playback music from the 1950s to the 1970s. Kumar also achieved notable success as a lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter and scriptwriter. Kishore Kumar was a prolific vocalist and sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Oriya. He is also widely regarded as the most versatile singer in the history of Indian cinema and a maverick of sorts for lending his voice to songs that did not conform to the norms of the day. In October 1987, he died following a massive heart attack.
