Ivo Malec: Dahovi (1961)
Ivo Malec (*1925): Dahovi, per nastro magnetico (1961). In its original form, Malec's Dahovi is music composed for Piotr Kamler's film, Structures, consisting of abstract images which determined the piece's fundamental architecture. In order to better circumscribe the musical content of the work, its architecture was later slightly modified in a way to make it free from its symbiotic role. The Serbo-Croatian word Dahovi means respiration, breathing. What is involved in the new condition of the work is to set into play, into counterpoint, into movement, small square surfaces (shaped in such a way that they remain within breathings that are almost white), then to color them either by changing their own rhythms, dimensions and intensities, or by bursts and scintillations of foreign sound objects which, now and then, project upon them different lights. Ivo Malec - Triola ou Symphonie pour moi-meme für Tonband, 1977-78
Ivo Malec, best known for his musique concrète works, was born March 30th, 1925 in Zagreb, Croatia. In 1959, he settled in France and joined Pierre Schaeffer in what was to become the GRM (Groupe de Recherches Musicales) one year later. When he arrived in Paris, Malec was already a fully equipped composer with a number of works to his credit, including a piano sonata (1949), a cello sonata (1956) and a symphony (1951) as well as several vocal works. He however considers his works written after 1960 as his first mature compositions. He received five times the Grand prix du disque, one time the Grand prix de la Sacem et Grand prix national de la musique. The composer recommended that part 1 of Triola be listened to very, very loud.

One of the earliest Yugoslav composers to obtain high international regard, his works have been performed by symphony orchestras throughout Europe and North America. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb and the Conservatoire de Paris, he was a pupil of Olivier Messiaen. Historia Kruka jest smutna. Pewnego dnia do schroniska przyszła kobieta z ładnym, zadbanym psem. Wyjeżdża. Psem nie ma kto się zająć. Więc chce go oddać. To, że spędziła z nim 6 lat, że nigdy nie miała z nim kłopotów, że "jest wspaniałym psem" jakoś jej nie przeszkadzało w podjęciu takiej decyzji. Schronisko psa przyjąć nie mogło. Takie są zasady, od właścicieli psów nie przyjmują. Wyszła z psem. Wolontariusze proponowali pomoc w znalezieniu Krukowi nowego domu. "Ale to ma być taki dobry dom, a nie byle co, rozumie pani! Najlepiej dom z ogrodem, to by było dla niego najlepsze." (a chwilę wcześniej chciała zostawić go w schroniskowej klatce ...) No ale poszła. Cóż, czasem nie da się zrozumieć ludzi. Po kilku dniach pies trafił do schroniska. Przecież wiadomo, że gdy ktoś już podjął decyzję, to psa się pozbędzie. W ten lub inny sposób. Został znaleziony przez koleżankę jednej z wolontariuszek. Wzięła go do siebie, ale jej psy nie zaakceptowały znajdy. Musiała jednak dać go do schroniska. Właścicielka oczywiście nie była już nim zainteresowana. Kruk ma 7-8 lat, od szczeniaka wychował się w domu. Jest czysty i grzeczny w mieszkaniu. Ładnie chodzi na smyczy. Był bardzo związany ze swoją rodziną. Kochał ją, pilnował. Jest psem czujnym, nie wpuści obcego do mieszkania. A przy tym zrównoważony, łagodny i oddany swoim ludziom. Bardzo przeżył porzucenie... Wiele tygodni był zamknięty w sobie, nie chciał kontaktu z nikim, nie chciał iść z "obcym" na spacer. Zmarniał, schudł (a <b>...</b>
