ABOUT SULTAN BAHU (RA) ------------------------------------------ Sultan Bahu (Punjabi: سلطان باہو) (ca 1628 - 1691) was a Muslim Sufi and saint, who founded the Sarwari Qadiri Sufi order. Sultan Bahu belonged to the Awan tribe, and was born in Anga, Soon Valley, Sakesar (Vadi-e-Soon Sakesar). Like many other Sufi saints of South Asia, Sultan Bahu was a prolific writer, with more than forty books on Sufism attributed to him. Most of His books are in Persian. However, most of his books deal with specialised subjects related to Islam and Islamic mysticism; it is his Punjabi poetry that had popular appeal and made him a household name in the region. His verses are sung in many genres of Sufi music, including qawwali and kafi. Tradition has established a unique style of singing his couplets. Sultan Bahu is a direct descendant from Ali, (cousin of Muhammad, husband of Fatima and father of Hasan ibn Ali and Husayn ibn Ali). Traditionally, he is Hashimi, and belongs to the Awan tribe. Historically the tribe trace their descent to Ameer Shah, son of Qutub Shah whose family lineage is traced back to Ali Shrine of Sultan Bahu The mausoleum of Sultan Bahu is located in Garh Maharaja, Punjab, Pakistan. It was originally built on his grave. However, the mausoleum subsequently had to be moved twice when the Chenab River changed its course. Saif-ul-Malook Shaukat Ali (1826-1907)
Saif-ul-Malook The love romance, saif-ul-Malook of mian mohammad Bakhsh (1826-1907) was composed by the poet when he was 36. and the year was 1862. It is a love romance with a significant difference. The poem is overlapped by many layers of romance material, yet the underlying structure is simple and allegoricle. It possesses sufic content too, but even that is formed by the serioisness of its allegorical intention.
Trip to Shugraan,Paye, Naran, Saif-ul-Malook Lake
Me along with my family decided to visit the beautiful valley of Naran. On our way we rested in Shugraan and visit the Beautiful Meadows called Paye. Then we moved on and reached Naran, This place is Amazing. I wish i had an HD camera to shoot. But i managed to get some shots with my trusty Sony DSC H-50. I choose it because it shoots progressive, prefect for stunning details like the beautiful Saif-ul-Malook Lake. I make a special video about some specific place too if you guys ask for it. Mian Muhammed Baksh, was born in a village called khanqa Peera Shah Gazi Khari Sharif, situated in the Mirpur District (now in Azad Kashmir) and was a Sufi Saint and also a Punjabi poet of great repute. He is especially renowned as the writer of a book of poetry called Saif Ul Malook. His works include: Siharfi, Sohni Mahival, Tuhfah-e Miran, Tuhfah-e Rasuliyah, Shirin Farhad, Mirza Sahiban, Sakhi Khavass Khan, Shah Mansur, Gulzar-e Faqir, Hidayatul Muslimin, Panj Ganj, Masnavi-e Nirang-e Ishq. He also wrote a commentary on the Arabic Qasidat-ul-Burda of Al-Busiri and his most famous work, entitled Safar-Ul Ishq (The Journey of Ardent Love) and better known as Saif Ul Malook is presented here, read by the legendary Shaukat Ali.

He was gifted with a melodious voice and began singing as a child. Strongly attracted to music, he took little interest in his studies and dropped out of school to pursue a singing career, much to the dismay of his father, until Malik Shah, his spiritual guide, intervened on his behalf. Once he achieved the freedom to sing, Alam Lohar developed a new style of singing the Punjabi warm, an epic or folk tale. He is famous for his rendition of Waris Shahs Heer, which he has memorized in 36 styles and forms. He recorded his first album at the age of 13 and has outsold all other singers in Pakistan, with 5000 albums to his credit. Allam Lohar organized a full-fledged theatre with a complete orchestra. His troupe toured all of Punjab for religious and seasonal festivals. He also travelled several times to the United Kingdom at his own expense to perform for Pakistanis living overseas, who were delighted by his colourful clothes and thrilling voice, traditional chimta in hand. Alam Lohar died in an car accident near Sham ki bhaitiyan on July 3, 1979. He was laid to rest near GT road in Lala Musa District Gujrat, Punjab. ****************************** Info <b>...</b>
