Kila Kokonut Krew and Auckland Theatre Company join forces to produce 'STRICTLY BROWN' a sizzling hot, new Comedy Variety show as part of the Manukau Festival of the Arts 2009. We've had the Laughing Samoans and Flight of the Conchords, now brace yourself New Zealand for 'Pani and Pani!' the Pacific-rims answer to Kath and Kim. 'STRICTLY BROWN' is a one off opportunity to see these stars before they truly shine. Starring; Anapela Polataivao (The Market) and Goretti Chadwick (Where We Once Belonged) as our all time clueless characters of comedy 'Pani and Pani'. Also featuring guest appearances from funny man Robbie Magasiva (Shortland Street, Bro' Town, Sione's Wedding, Naked Samoans, The Strip, Jacksons Wharf, Stick Men), and musicians Adeaze as well as other celebrity guests. Hosted by comedy crusader Vela Manusaute (The Brownies, AotearoHA, Island Mafia, Taro King, Once Were Samoan's) with Kila acts from the Kila Kokonut Krew (Stacey Leilua, Aleni Tufuga, Glen Jackson)and 'Empty Rooms' band starring Tony T (Adijah). 'STRICTLY BROWN' will also show case the talents of 6 new entertainment acts. Each act has been chosen through a gruelling 6 week audition process and will compete on the night for the Grand Prize. Marcus Winter is an indegenious artist of New Zealand, and is the only "performance painter" of his kind in Australasia and the Pacific. The following is his live art performance using Sand Art. Marcus tells the Māori creation story of the world being formed by the violent separation of Ranginui, the Sky Father, and Papatuanuku, the Earth Mother, by their children. He later proceeds to present day landmarks of Auckland, New Zealand and ends with the welcome to the audience to the event, The Original Art Sale 2010, held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. The Original Art Sale is still ongoing with over a thousand artworks by over 400 New Zealand artists, 25 to 27 June at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, Manukau City, Auckland, New Zealand.

The Malaysia Kitchen Pavilion was a huge drawcard at the Auckland International Cultural Festival held in March 2011. www.malaysiakitchen.co.nz Four of Auckland's top Malaysian restaurants - KK (Epsom), Sri Puteri (Panmure), Taste of Malaysia (Manukau) and The Mustard Seed (Auckland CBD) - served up iconic Malaysian dishes such as nasi lemak, mee goreng, dosai and roti. Thousands attended the festival in March 2011, an annual multi-cultural extravaganza which showcases the culinary flavours of the world as well as an array of music, dance, arts, crafts and sports, from 47 nations and their different cultures. Guests ignored the threat of rain to enjoy the wealth of colour, including Auckland Mayor Len Brown, Trade Commissioner, Matrade Sydney, Mr Md Shaiful Md Sharif who flew in for the event, and the Hon.
