In a Mist McPartland Marian 1974 [thanks to boberwig on dailymotion] Pianist Marian McPartland plays a tune composed by Bix Beiderbecke. He recorded "In the Mist" in 1927. Margaret Marian Turner was born in England on March 21, 1918 near Slough, Buckinghamshire. As a child, young Marian Turner approached the piano around the age of three. While gaining proficiency on her own, she often provided musical entertainment at family gatherings. Her parents, however, enrolled Marian in violin lessons. Marian's enrollment in a boarding school ended her doomed attempt at playing the violin, and she eventually ended up at the famous London Guildhall School of Music where she studied piano and composition. Marian was introduced to jazz by a boyfriend who often brought jazz records to her house. For hours they would listen to the music of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, and others. From that point on, Marian was hooked on jazz. In 1943, Marian began playing in USO camp shows in Belgium and France, where she met a Chicago cornetist named Jimmy McPartland, a Bix Beiderbeck protege. In 1952, Marian's trio began what was to become a long-running gig at New York's Hickory House, where many legendary musicians to whom Marian had once listened often sat in the audience listening to Marian. In 1978, Marian began hosting her own radio program for National Public Radio and South Carolina Educational Radio: Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz. Tale Of Us are Carmine Conte, Matteo Milleri , Both originally hailing from outside of Europe, Karm was born in Toronto and Matteo in New York, they moved to Milan while very young and this is where they met and formed the working bond that they now share. At the moment they are living out of Berlin an inspirational frontier that is allowing them to enlarge their bonds.Their music and productions are a mixture of new sounds and genres ranging from pop to house, nu/disco to rock with everything in between, music that can make people dance feeling their deepest emotions come alive. The first full debut release of the duo will be out on 'Visionquest' (Label of Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves & Lee Curtiss) in Spring 2011 whilst tracks already appear on labels such as 'Barraca Music', 'Cocoon' and 'Life & Death'. Various collaborations took place in 2010 alongside fellow 'Visionquest' label mates Shaun Reeves & Ryan Crosson for critically acclaimed remixes and EP's. In particular the Tale Of Us remix on 'Life & Death' (Thugfucker - Disco Gnome) has seen them achieve much praise, airplay and success in record sales. Future remixes on the horizon sees the duo try their hand at something totally different with a dynamic remix for an upcoming album of the rock band 'Who Made Who' which fuses together both rock and techno whilst managing to create something incredibly raw and interesting. I recently had the pleasure of watching it a week ago at the Teatro Maravillas in Madrid, drooling over the wonderful and marvelous 'peliroja' Marian Aguilera from the 6th row!, my sole original purpose, lol, but was also greatly surprised at the overall fantabulousness of the play which was a 2 hour laughfest. We had tears rolling down our faces the whole time it was so hilarious. I highly recommend it to anyone! The only intention of this video is to show appreciation of the talent and loveliness of Miss Aguilera, our unforgetable 'peliroja' from LHDP. No copyright infrigement intended.
