Dan Marino was one of the greatest passers in NFL history. Marino combined for a 25 year NFL record 927 yards with Ken O'Brien (perhaps the NFL's most accurate passer) in 1 game! (record broke with 933 yards on September 12th 2011). Marino also passed for 400 or more yards an NFL record 15! times. Simply amazing.

Mark Marino: What Matters to Me and Why
Mark Marino, assistant professor (teaching) in the USC Writing Program, discussed the topic of "What Matters to Me and Why" on Jan. 19, 2011. Marino's classes explore writing and social media in the context of community service. He is the founder and editor of Bunk Magazine and director of communication of the Electronic Literature Organization. His recent scholarship launched the explication of computer source code in the area he calls critical code studies. Marino holds degrees in creative writing and literature from Brown University, Notre Dame and Loyola Marymount University. He completed his Ph.D. at UC Riverside, where his doctoral research focused on chatbots, electronic literature, games and other new media. "What Matters to Me and Why" is a speakers' series that bridges the separation between intellectual life and personal and spiritual issues by having featured USC faculty and administrators spend about 20 minutes addressing the topic "What Matters to Me and Why," followed by an informal dialogue rounding out the hour. The program is sponsored by the USC Office of Religious Life and the USC Levan Institute for Humanities and Ethics.
