Mario Party DS is a fun and playable Mario Party game that works well on Nintendo DS. Players compete in a virtual board game to save Mario and his crew from Bowser's evil plan! Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and friends play a real-life (virtual) board game to collect coins and stars and play through dozens of mini games. Mario Party DS is basically a glorified compilation of minigames for Nintendo DS but retains the Nintendo Mario charm and playability to make Mario Party DS a great game on the go. 2-4 player single DS card multiplayer is also available. Mario Party has been a title floating around for many years now, jumping from console to console providing a fun 4 player party game to enjoy with friends. This version of Mario Party appears to not be so different with the exception of not being able to play with anyone else easily. "Mario Party DS", should have just been titled "Mario Pass Around Board Game" by the looks of it. The graphics and smoothness aren't so bad going on a more 3d approach. However, there is a lack of accuracy that I find very important. When you jump to hit the dice there is a 8-9 second delay and it leaves you feeling a bit cheated when trying to hit the number you want. The mini games are all very fun and can be unlocked to play for a score after playing the main game. However, it is very aggravating knowing you can only play this title alone or by passing your ds to your friends after your turn. We are in the future of wireless internet connection. This shouldn't be an issue at all.The game can be played by all ages, although I measure ages 12+ will be most interested. Any younger and they will have lost their patience after the first few minutes. It is a LONG game. If you are interested in unlocking all the items and all the games expect to be sitting there playing this board game of chance for quite some time. The Positive: Tons of Mini Games, Unlockable Content, All Ages Play, Classic Characters The Negative: Lack of Wifi Options, Repetitive, Limited Music
