Under the Mountain was an eight-part television series based on the novel of the same name written by Maurice Gee and produced by Television New Zealand and first transmitted in 1981. The show focused on a pair of twins, Rachel and Theo Matheson. While on school summer holidays in Auckland, they were contacted by a man named Mr. Jones, who had met them briefly eight years earlier. This time, Mr. Jones revealed his true identity and mission. He was an alien, sent from another world in a battle against another race of aliens. These latter creatures were a family of slimy, slug-like beasts who could take on human form. Led by the evil Mr. Wilberforce, the slug monsters were now bent on destroying Earth and only the twins' emerging psychic abilities could turn them back. Filming for the farm & bush scenes in the first episode took place near Silverdale, North of Auckland, at Mt. Pleasant, a historic dairy farm & homestead in Pine Valley Road.

Pictures and song of a chef-d'oeuvre. Sadly, this unforgettable movie from New Zealand has been scarcely distributed... 'Bailero', a chant d'Auvergne by Joseph Canteloube, is sung by Kiri Te Kanawa, accompanied by the English Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Tate. "Sabrina Lamb writes like the love child of Terry McMillan and Chris Rock. With wild plot twists and page-turning style, A Kettle Of Vultures is sassy, wise and funny as hell." Bridgett M. Davis, author of Shifting Through Neutral A funny book about race, love and Cuban coffee -- among many other things. AJ Jacobs, The Year of Living Biblically and My Life as an Experiment. If David Sedaris' Naked and Zadie Smith's White Teeth spawned a literary child, A KETTLE OF VULTURES would be their offspring. Written with humorous abandon by popular satirist, former stand-up comic and media commentator, Sabrina Lamb, A KETTLE OF VULTURES is a fictional romp which exposes the ascerbic thoughts of image consultant Iris Chapman, her dysfunctional family, socially maladjusted clients, magical friends and her adventurous journey towards self-acceptance.

In Our Own Time is the compelling story of the Bee Gees career. From their roots in the North West of England, through their early career in Australia, their return to England and international breakthrough in the late sixties and then on to global superstardom with Saturday Night Fever and beyond. Alongside the success there is the heartache of the tragically early deaths of first their younger brother Andy and then later Maurice. The story is told in their own words through in depth new interviews with Barry and Robin Gibb and through extensive interviews with Maurice filmed shortly before his death in January 2003. These are lavishly illustrated by live performances, TV and film clips and home movies of their early days. In Our Own Time features clips of many of their greatest hits including: You Should Be Dancing , New York Mining Disaster 1941 , Massachusetts , Run To Me , Jive Talkin , Stayin Alive , Night Fever , How Deep Is Your Love , Tragedy and You Win Again and their collaborations such as Guilty with Barbara Streisand and Immortality with Celine Dion.
