Novation have launched StepSeq, a free Max For Live Patch that turns Launchpad into a fully fledged melodic step sequencer. Conceived as a cool but powerful sequencer to enable Launchpad users to programme melodies, leads and basslines quickly in Live, the buttons are configured diatonically (as opposed to chromatically, as with a traditional step sequencer). The degree of the scale and its tonal centre can be set by the user, meaning that, once set up, any note you trigger in your sequence will fit in harmonically with your track, making it really easy to keep within the context of the song.

11/22/11 -- Happy Max Headroom day! Hi, Cracked! Hi, [new] Encyclopedia Dramatica On a late-November evening in 1987, two Chicago television stations were victims of a broadcast signal takeover. After an earlier hijack attempt on WGN-9 during the 9:00 News , a broadcast on WTTW-11 of the Doctor Who episode "Horror of Fang Rock" was interrupted by a man wearing a Max Headroom mask. The crazed person uttered mostly gibberish and bashed the Chicago Tribune and its subsidiaries, before he dropped his pants and was spanked by what appears to be a child. 90-seconds later, the program returned to normal. To this day, he remains at large. This is a subtitled version of the original footage added as a courtesy due to the low audio quality of the recording. This is a rather old version, eventually I will add new annotations in response to how some of the audio was interpreted. EDIT: Thanks to a new video with the audio cleaned up, I've found out that he is indeed saying "I still see the X". I guess this is the spiritual sequel to Heartbeat, and originally id chosen an intense dubstep song to go with it. After two weeks of no progress with the editing, a discussion one evening with the 3 Ilabaca brothers made me seriously rethink where i wanted to go with this video. So, I wiped the slate clean and started over, with the song you hear now. As for the progressions, since i first did Heartbeat i sort of developed five different progressions in my head. Three of which have now been completed. There will be two more and then the series will be finished! This was filmed during my birthday week when everyone came to cambridge, so i guess it took about three days to get it all done. All the planned runs were thought up and filmed within about 20 mins. I edited the video in two days, using Final Cut Pro. Danny transcribed the recording in the winter of 2008 and it has become a crowd favourite at our shows!
