Classic Game Room HD reviews the first METAL SLUG for the Playstation 2 PS2 video game console. Originally released for the SNK Neo Geo in 1996, Metal Slug has gone on to become one of the premier run n' gun shooters ever created. This version of the game is from the SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 disc for the PS2. The CGRHD review of Metal Slug has gameplay footage from the PS2 game being played. If you like games like Contra and Metroid then Metal Slug should be right up your alley (more like Contra and Super Contra though). Hand drawn sprites in 2D with a great sense of humor and motion bring Metal Slug off the screen into a frenzied romp through war movie inspired backgrounds filled with mindless enemies waiting to be machine gunned, exploded, set on fire and run over by the Metal Slug tank. While CGR has not played the original Neo Geo MVS version in quite some time, this PS2 emulated game runs smooth and free of any visual defects. Gameplay is terrific using the Playstation 2 dual shock controller and this SNK collection has unlockable items like the Metal Slug music and artwork. Happy 4th of July! Me and the HogheadDogfacedBoy are doing a Gecko's Guides of Metal Slug for the Neo·Geo. The Review of Metal Slug is in this video. Metal Slug is an Arcade classic, and is literally a very well done game. If you want more replay value, the other ports (ie NeoGeo CD, Sega Saturn, Playstation) have Combat School, Art Galleries, and mission modes that will make you come back to play this game again, and again, and again. Metal Slug is fun, but expensive. If you are looking for the NeoGeo AES port. GOOD LUCK! The price will drive you to complete insanity. But if you have the sanity, and the money to afford this gem, then this game would be HIGHLY recommended. This game is an amazing shooter that is worthy for any Neo Owner's collection. Personally i am a die hard Metal Slug fan. I've LOVED the series since Metal Slug 2. I used to play in the arcade and i rocked it. Anthology seemed like a great idea at first, but there execution on the PSP is just sad. Total Rating - 6 / 10 Graphics - 9 / 10 Sound - 5 / 10 Controls - 9 / 10 Replay - 9 / 10 even thought there so many 9's. i'll explain why this game gets a 6 in the video.

A note of this part: In Mission 3 the big head falling down when i destroyed the big building following Allen O'Neal didn't show up, but sometimes they would, somebody tell me how to make it appear or is it just a random joke? When fighting with the end boss of mission 3 there should be more than 2 POWs falling from the trees whom i can rescue, but strangely, after 2 of them the rest did not appear this time, which is why i'd been lingering around the mines and electricity like hell not to be finishing the boss too early, but i knew one more minute, you surely won't see this video on youtube. Also at the beginning of mission four, three POWs might fall from the sky accompanied by an enemy airplane when you just wait and dodge, why again didn't that happen?
