*More INFO. Not Tar, no Volcanoes around, no smell, and no taste. Can't break off aa chip with pliers either. My Brother In Law, Ike gave me this stone and told me it was found in a field here long ago. Well, I have looked at it, others have looked at it, but there seems no conclusive evidence either way of what it is. It is heavy for it's size, stone like, and it is Glossy looking under a flash. It has no magnetic properties. There are places where it looks like small holes or openings and some places where the stripes and dots are raised. A geologist may figure it out, but I am not sending it out anywhere. Good luck with the guesses. When I find out for sure what it is, I will post it. In the mean time, "Meteorite" seems to fit the description well. Voices impersonated.
