In this video 14 years old world-class virtuoso violinist Midori performs the 5th movement of Bernstein's Serenade after Plato's Symposium. However she broke accidentally the E string and she was quickly passed the concermaster's fiddle. But then she broke again the E string and she rapidly took the violin of the associate concertmaster, without missing a beat. A true Virtuoso ! She made her debut at the age of 11 in a last minute change of programming during a concert by the New York Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta highlighting young performers. When she was 21, she formed the philanthropic group Midori and Friends to help bring music to children in New York City.
