Metroid (NES) Samus Battles Mother Brain
This fight waz totally agravating in the sense those stupid automated cannons firing at you seem to just push you around. Mind you that's one simalarity the nes version and the super nes version have in common with each other. I waz expecting to see a more monsterous form after blowing away Mother Brain, but I guess they only came up with that idea by the time the super nes one came out. I included the ending as well, but I take it I took too long due to the fact only her face appears from the spacesuit. At least that's how it went on Super Nintendo. The quicker you did it, the more she'd come out of the space suit.

One power cord (one still image shows a few cords but they aren't attached to the machine) out the back which is a Bits Limited Smartstrip. When PC turns on, everything (cathodes, controls, sound, LCD) powers on at once.

A tribute video for Mother Brain from the Metroid Series. First it shows, pictures, and then it shows the actual battle. Another thing, the Aurora unit was way too easy of a boss. It only took me one try to beat the thing (along with Dark Samus too). Two Things to think about before commenting: 1. I KNOW that Mother Brain is not the Aurora Unit Boss! 2. The Aurora Units and Mother Brain are very similar, since they are both evil and both are bio-mechanical supercomputers.

This would have marked the end of the game in the original. But this isn't the original, now is it. This is the third boss. Mother Brain is annoying. Using Super Missiles to break her casing is the fastest way I've found to do it. This video also includes the escape, and crashing. Enjoy.

Metroid Zero Mission Mother Brain: 10 items hard mode
Remember that crack I made about breaking this game well I was wrong. Thanks to info from Tuckerscreator I managed to make it through chozodia with two regular missiles and a super missile. Better get with the battle strategies: First of all this is not much different from doing this on normal mode. The big difference is the one minute escape. However there's also the high risk of death and error when fighting mother brain. Mother Brain AI: The mind laser is a counterattack. MB will NOT fire it at any random moment. However if you fall into the lava or hang on an edge if will also fire it when you get back on the platform. On normal mode it'll fire it at every 5 missiles or one super. On hard mode it will fire it on every 3 missiles or one super. I took advantage of a small minor calculation glitch by saving my super after my first two missiles. usually one would assume it would fire two mind lasers but it only fires one despite 7 missiles worth of damage was dealt to it. It might not really be a glitch it's just how the game handles the calculation. Yes you can survive the mind laser and a turrent shot. JUST BARELY. To help make things a little safer freeze the rinkas to where if you get hit you won't fall in the lava and then end up nuking your chances at beating MB. Late in the video I actually do that a few times so watch for that. Turrent AI: Completely random. There is no way to predict it. They fire not only in random locations but also at random times. Motherbrain (AKA Marc Osborn) doing an impromtu jam starting with a ringtone from his cell phone. No canned loops (except the ringtone of course), just improvised live looping in Ableton Live from his home studio in Brooklyn, NY. The Live template starts COMPLETELY blank. Using: Ableton live 7 Steinberg Hypersonic for Bass, Rhodes, Drums, and Pad Ableton 'Sampler' for blips and stabs (custom patches) Native Instruments Pro-53 for lead synth CamelSpace for processing Ableton Live's included effects 'AutoFilter' and 'FilterDelay' MAudio Keystation 88es Presonus Firepod (audio interface) Zoom H4 (to record the output- it's clearly clipping. Spore: Mother Brain (Metroid)
This is merely a statue (I plan on doing the real thing later!) but I tried to make it as close to the real thing as possible and the red circles are the Zebites. Mother Brain wished for order, even willing to use the nefarious Space Pirates to do so. Being mostly machine she has no empathy for any living creature, and will stop at nothing until the galaxy is free of its chaotic bindings once and for all. Destroy target: Samus Aran.

Metroid -- Mother Brain Battle and Best Ending
This is the epic battle with Mother Brain and the best ending in the original NES Metroid. This is what started one of the greatest game series of all time, at least in the US. An awful lot of you seem to think that Samus is nude in this one. That is definitely not the case. This is the best ending, which ends with Samus wearing a bikini. She is wearing a bikini here. Because I recorded it with a camcorder with the source from a big screen TV, there is some bluring and some of the color is not fully realized, making it appear that she is nude when she is not.

Metroid: Tourian, Mother Brain, and the Ending.
This is the original Tourian accessible in the original Metroid which can be played in Zero Mission once you beat the game once (Go into options on the file select screen). It's pretty much the same, but less detailed and not as spread out. It's probably a bit harder too. Once you beat Mother Brain, you have to climb the copypasta exit shaft. Super Metroid - Mother Brain 2 - Murder Beam
Mother Brain part 2 beaten using the Murder Beam. Played in real time on Snes9x v1.43 rerecording. To use the Murder Beam, charge up your beam and then pause the game. Go to the inventory screen, equip all beams but the Plasma Beam, then move the cursor onto the Speed Booster. Now push left on the control cross and the A button at exactly the same time to equip both the Spazer and Plasma beams. Unpause the game, fire the charged shot into Mother Brain's head while it's still sitting on the floor, then disequip the Spazer Beam again. Be careful when using the Murder Beam. If you fire it in any direction other than straight left, or if you fire an uncharged shot at all, the game will freeze. This is because there's no sprite in the game to display both the Spazer and Plasma Beams being fired together, and the game just doesn't know what to make of it. The actual effect that the Murder Beam has is creating an invisible wall of damage. Anything to the left of where the Murder Beam shot impacts (in this case, where Mother Brain's head was on the floor) will take constant damage. This is only practical against Mother Brain, however, since she's the only boss that will consistently stay to the left of where the shot can impact.

Super Metroid - Mother Brain 1 - No damage
Mother Brain part 1 beaten without taking damage. Played in real time on Snes9x v1.43 rerecording. The first stage of this fight is less an actual fight than it is an obstacle course. Blast through the zebetite barriers with super missiles and screw attack through any rinkas or turret shots that are headed your way. The safest spot on each platform is generally the far left edge, but rinkas can hit you anywhere and the turrets will occasionally as well if you're not careful. They don't do much damage, though, so a hit here and there isn't too bad. The acid, however, hurts quite a lot so be careful not to fall in. Once you get to Mother Brain, switch to regular missiles for breaking the glass since supers don't do any extra damage to it. They will against Mother Brain herself, however, so you can switch back to supers after a hole is open in the glass if you like. Crouch on the small platform and angle up when unloading missiles into Mother Brain and screw attack when rinkas get close. Try to destroy or dodge all three at once so that you'll have as much time as possible between waves. Don't worry about the turrets; they can't hit you while you're crouched on the platform.
Chrono Trigger (Part 110) - Mother Brain
In my estimation, this is actually one of the harder bosses. Make sure to kill two display panels (not all three). They can heal Mother Brain for 1000+, but if you destroy them all Mother Brain launches a heavy attack against all. Once you have destroyed two, use single techs on Mother Brain herself to do lots of damage. It will still get healed by one of the displays, but as long as you are doing 2500-3000 damage per round, you will defeat her. For defeating her, you gain Robo's best weapons, the Terra Arm and Crisis Arm.

The 'last' boss in AoI offline mode. Mother Brain is exactly like Dulk Fakis first form, but much cooler. I really did try to take it slow so you could see what she does and how she is graphically different. The music of course is far better and goes back to old Phantasy Star days. Also shows the 'hidden' boxes trick after her.
Super Metroid Speed Trick - Mother Brain Stand Up Glitch
By having at least 7 Energy Tanks and de-equipping both suits, you can use a glitch during the Mother Brain fight that allows Samus to stand up even after MB's final Rainbow Beam attack, and therefore having full control of her during the scene where the big Metroid joins. This allows you to get MB's final HP down to 0 before even getting Hyper Beam, and thus triggering her death animation immediately after the Metroid gets killed. Saving almost 14 seconds in the final phase of the fight, this trick even obsoletes the Murder Beam, though it's only executable in a 100% or similar runs that get high amount of Energy Tanks including the strongest beam combination (Plasma / Wave / Ice). Metroid: Zero Mission Part 13, Mother Brain
Here we are, Tourian, the Space Pirates' main base. It looks like they're all dead though, and the Metroids are loose. These Metroids are easier than Metroid 1 and Super's, they get off with just one bomb, but unfortunately recover from it nearly instantly. Still better though. Freeze them and pump them full of missiles! There can be more than 3 Rinkas on screen this time around, but they shouldn't be a problem unless they take the shot for the Metroids or hit you into them. Mother Brain is protected by her standard Zebetite barriers that must be blown to pieces, and regenerate. Just pump missiles into them, restock in the previous room, then take on the brain. It is annoying, but not as much as in the NES version. Falling in the lava doesn't mean you're in serious trouble, and the brain doesn't regenerate. A few Super Missiles will kill Mother Brain. Afterwards, a 2 minute escape sequence! Spinning jumps are harder to control, so I don't recommend them when hopping up the shaft unless you're going a long distance. Unless you're on hard mode there is some room for errors, I screwed up twice and only took 1:09. The mission is complete. Kraid, Ridley, Mother Brain, and the Metroids are all dead. Time for a COMPLICATION :O Also, there was a bit of lag in Mother Brain's room. I'm just glad it wasn't as serious as in the NES version, that had the system's limit of what it could have on screen! This is from my Wii preview channel. Mother Brain (not THE mother brain, but another "Aurora" unit) is going to be in MP3. Finally we get to play the Tourian stage in 3D... now if only they'd work in Kraid aswell... *EDIT* FIVE YEARS LATER! I posted this video before MP3 was even released. Even at that time, we knew it wasn't Mother Brain, we all watched the video. I chose the title to get views... and views i got, enough to upgrade my account even. I know no one reads the video descriptions or else my inbox wouldn't keep filling up with notification emails saying "its not teh mother brainz u fucktard". I figure that after five years of people's stupidity I should at least add an addendum to the video description... I'm debating turning off and deleting comments, but I'll give the metroid fan base one last chance to show some intelligence.
