M-Audio Support: www.m-audio.com Now that you've installed the driver for the M-Audio USB audio device and your computer has restarted, the next step is the Pro Tools software installation. Before installing Pro Tools, you want to check to see if there is a version newer than the one included on the DVD. Eject the DVD from your computer. Towards the top right, just below the word Essential is the Version. Mine shows 8.02. Next, go to www.m-audio.com/essentialFAQ and scroll down to the Latest Version section. If the latest version is the same Version as your DVD, you can use the Pro Tools installer on the DVD. If a newer version exists, you want to download and use that to install Pro Tools. Go ahead and put the DVD back in your computer. If the latest version matched the version of your DVD, you can double-click to Install Pro Tools on the Window that pops up after inserting the disc. If you downloaded an updated version, it may open automatically, if not, double-click to open the downloaded file and you should see these 2 icons. In addition to being able to update an existing installation, the updater can be used for new installations of Pro Tools M-Powered Essential. I downloaded the updater and will use that to install Pro Tools; if you have the latest version on your DVD, run that installer. Regardless of how youre installing, the process will be the same, so everyone can follow along. Double Click to begin the installation. Click Continue on the pop up window ...
