Cocteau Twins - Musette and Drums - Full version, Live 1983
This performance by Cocteau Twins was recorded live on TV in the UK in late 1983. (They played "From the Flagstones" too, which I may upload later). This rendition of Musette & Drums was their best-ever TV performance, in my opinion. The band were at their best creatively too. There's a couple of small sound drop-outs, but those were on the original TV broadcast, so there's nothing I can do :-(

French Musette accordion waltz "Bourrasque"
Played on Elkavox83 accordion. Again recorded onto laptop, but I think volumes a wee bit distorted, still "listenable" though I hope! The pics are from our holidays Jun07 with our wee boat and others and some good friends. The beautiful yacht near the end of the clip is "Tigerlily of Cornwall", believed to belong to Roger Taylor of the group Queen, pictured at anchor off Millport, Isle of Cumbrae. Hopefully the weather & scenery will suggest the Med!! (But it is definitely the Clyde!)The playings a bit rough, but it was never originally intended for broadcast, that'll teach me!!

a very nice musette-waltz, that i picked up from the web, created by Mausoléo Robin. I changed it partially in repetitions and some minor phrases, but left it mostly as simple as it was. Experienced players can add more phrases and use chords instead of single notes. This is just a personal prerecording to find out, how people like this song. In the latest revision of the 1st movement I simplified the piano part, to bring it to an acceptable level in comparison with the (also not so difficult) oboe part. There are 3 movements: the 1st movement is a set of variations on a bass theme; the 2nd movement is pastoral and is fast and in ABA form; the final movement is a fast rondo.

Such a great tune this is, composed by Joseph Colombo and Tony Murena. Despite its description as a "Valse Musette," I'm using the French Jazz bassoon setting as well as the traditional musette accordion sounds. As always, the sounds you hear are those available as onboard voices of the Roland FR-7x V-Accordion. Settings: Bass: Jazz Acoustic Bass with Folk Bass Drum percussion. Chords: Jazz Acoustic Accordion Bass with Shaker & Jazz High-hat percussion. Treble: French Jazz Acoustic Accordion, Bassoon Reed I-Folk Acoustic Accordion Reeds (8', 8+, 8-) If you are interested in purchasing a collection of 13 sets created for the Roland 7x, please email me.
