Ellora Caves-Bibi ka maqbara Aurangabad- "Discover India with Ashish Negi"

Aurangabad (Marathi: औरंगाबाद), Urdu: اورنگآباد, is a city in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India. Aurangabad (meaning "Built by the Throne") is named after the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The city is a tourist hub, surrounded with many historical monuments, including the Ajanta Caves and Ellora Caves, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as Bibi Ka Maqbara. This video is part of my travel series, Discover India with Ashish Negi, and covers Ellora caves & Bibi ka Maqbara. Ellora (Marathi: वेरूळ Vērūḷa) is an archaeological site, 30 km (19 mi) from the city of Aurangabad in the Indian state of Maharashtra built by the Rashtrakuta dynasty (Kannada: ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕೂಟ). Well-known for its monumental caves, Ellora is a World Heritage Site. Ellora represents the epitome of Indian rock-cut architecture. The 34 "caves" -- actually structures excavated out of the vertical face of the Charanandri hills. Buddhist, Hindu and Jain rock-cut temples and viharas and mathas were built between the 5th century and 10th century. The 12 Buddhist (caves 1--12), 17 Hindu (caves 13--29) and 5 Jain (caves 30--34) caves, built in proximity, demonstrate the religious harmony prevalent during this period of Indian history In my next upload I will be covering Ajanta caves. Per Aspera ad Astra (The Art of Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach)

Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach (February 21, 1851, Hadamar--December 15, 1913, Capri) was a German painter and social reformer. Diefenbach was a pioneer of nudism and the peace movement. His country commune in Vienna (1897--1899) was one of the models for the reform settlement Monte Verità in Ascona. His ideas included life in harmony with nature and rejection of monogamy, turning away from any religion (although he was a follower of theosophy, and a vegetarian diet. When his commune went bankrupt, he moved to Capri and stayed there for the rest of his life. As a painter he was an independent representative of Art Nouveau and Symbolism. Since 1974 there is a museum of his works in Certosa di San Giacomo on Capri. Music by Laraaji, 'Space Choir'. In italiano: www.thule-italia.net www.vesuvioweb.com

The Norman Luboff Choir was among the most popular choral ensembles of their day, releasing a series of hit easy-listening LPs during the late 1950s and 1960s. Luboff was born May 14, 1917 in Chicago, where he began his career as a vocalist and arranger for area radio programs. In 1948 he relocated to Hollywood, singing on to compose movie music for Warner Bros. The choir also backed a number of vocalists including Harry Belafonte and Doris Day, and although their recording career came to a halt during the late 1960s, they continued touring until Luboff's cancer-related death on September 22, 1987. - Raymond McKinney, All-Music Guide +++There's a Goldmine Of Romantic Music that is in the process of being LOST forever. State Central Library, Trivandrum, Kerala, India !

The Library was established in the year 1829 AD during the reign of His Highness Sree Swathi Thirunal Maharaja of Travancore. The work of starting and organising the Library was entrusted to Col. Edward Cadogan, then the British Resident who was the grand son of Sir Hans Sloane, the founder of the British Museum. Col. Cadogan was the first president of the Trivandrum Public Library committee, which managed the affairs of the Library. At that time, only a privileged class who were called to attend the Durbar of His Highness the Maharaja was allowed admission to the Library. The Library was then known as "Trivandrum People's Library". Other landmarks in the history of library are: 1898 AD - The assets of Trivandrum People's Library were transferred to the administrative control of Government and was opened to the public. 1900 AD - His Highness Sree Moolam Thirunal constructed the present building for housing the library, which is an architectural beauty in the Gothic style, in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Victoria. 1938 AD - The administration of the Trivandrum Public Library was handed over to University of Travancore (now University of Kerala). 1948 - The State Government was directed to take over the administration of the Library from the University by a resolution of the State Legislature. 1958 - The Library was declared as the 'State Central Library' of Kerala. 1988 - The library was given the status of a minor department under the ...

Home to the eastern Miao people, who called themselves "Gho Xiong" or "People of Bamboo." Home to the Hmong ancestors, who settled, flourished, bled, and buried on this beautiful land. The thread of life, connected by clothes, to traditions, to religion, to the thread that connect the ceiling to family's altar.... losing one's aspect of the Hmong culture is losing one's connection to the Hmong ancestors and the root of one's identity. The Hmong culture and history is very complex to fully understand. One must look into the different Miao groups in China to understand the position and developed culture of the Hmong people. To the east, live the Gho Xiong. To the center, live the Hmu and Kanao. To the west, live the A-Hmao and Hmong. You cannot make assumptions, you cannot be ignorant, if you don't understand. You are able to live in peace and love others, if you are able to know your root.

WHY DOGFIGHT 2 /TURKIYE= MIXTURE OF RELIGIONS&LOVE&TOLERANCE

Achieving peace and harmony in a world of different cultures and religions may seem like an elusive goal. But Norman Police Chief Phil Cotten has a new appreciation for the quest for peace, after 10 days of total immersion in Turkey's rich history and traditions.Cotten was one of several Oklahomans invited on a special sojourn to Turkey in early June, courtesy of Turkish Republic. The group also included Norman residents Theresa Vaughan, a University of Central Oklahoma professor, and T. Thomas, a Baptist minister. Others were Sam Bowman, Oklahoma City councilmember; David Goin, Edmond school superintendent; and three state representatives, Al Lindley, D-Oklahoma City; Jabar Shumate, D-Tulsa; and Mike Shelton, D-Oklahoma City. The group left Oklahoma City on May 30, spent 10 days in Turkey and returned June 11. "In my opinion, the goal was for us to come back with a very deep appreciation for Turkey and Turkish people and the real true Islam beliefs," Cotten said. "They are very loving and caring people." He was approached to go on the trip by Dr. Vahap Uysal, a University of Oklahoma finance professor. Cotten had previously attended some of the institute's events and gatherings in Oklahoma City and Norman. And he knew that Drs. Tom and Barbara Boyd had previously gone on an Institute-sponsored trip. Cotten spoke with Dr. Barbara Boyd, asking her about what to expect."And she said, 'I'm not going to tell you what to expect, I want you to experience it for yourself ...

An incredible night of music for the ones that were fortunate enough to see these two performers, to whom of which-possess an extraordinary amount of talent. Undoubtedly, they will become a phenomenon. Don't miss a chance to see them in a live performance. NOTE: notice the near dead silence from the audience during most of the performance of this gig. The audience held back by the most part till each song was over. Lucky for me, that helped out with the audio portion. There must have been nearly 90 people inside this little coffee shop. And at some moments, it seemed as if The Civil Wars were performing to just me and my camera. All patrons were totally reverent and respectful, but also awe struck. SONGS: Tip Of My Tongue 00:59, Forget Me Not 4:39, From This Valley 8:40, 20 Years 12:37, You Are My Sunshine 16:04, Girl With The Red Balloon 19:34, Barton Hollow 24:35 David Ramirez (Austin, Texas singer/songwriter) also gave a memorable performance the same night also. His videos are also listed. The Civil Wars have two music videos that have run on CMT channel, and on iTunes. They were also on Jay Leno in Jan. 2011. Their site: www.thecivilwars.com

Leo and Erik the Flutemakers Egyptian Flute - 13. August 2011

Hey - it´s time to introduce new flutes - part 2 ;-)) Here we have a flute with an exotic scale, very melodic. It´sa modified side blown ancient Egyptian Ney. Although Neys are found in the Arabic world from Morocco to Pakistan, Persia, and Turkey, it is said to have started over 5000 years ago in Ancient Egypt. Seen in tomb paintings in pyramids and still played in some Ethiopian tribes. It is one of the oldest forms of flutes. The Museum in Cairo shows some very primitive Neys that bear striking similarities to the simple cane instruments that are still found in Egypt today. The Ney (nay, or nai) is the soul instrument in the Arabic music. The Ney is commonly a pastoral instrument and also used in classical, folk and religious music. The traditional Ney is made of Nile Reed. The Persian word Ney means reed. Egyptian Neys usually are made from plain cane with seven sound holes, Six in the front and one in the back. While Persian instruments have six sound holes and a brass mouthpiece. Erik the Flutemaker played around with a 6 hole Ney and perhaps to his western way of interpreting harmony he found one hole to be a real bother musically. So he modified the flute without it; leaving 4 top holes and one in the back. It is traditionally an end-blown flute. One of the hardest to play in the world. Even this flute arrived on that day - so i wanted to check it out immediately. Enjoy this very exotic sound! The Egyptian Flute - available @ Leo the Flutemaker: www.wildartisans ...
