Samolot RWD-13 konstrukcji inżynierów Stanisława Rogalskiego, Jarzego Drzewieckiego i Leszka Dulęby powstał w drugiej połowie 1934 r. na zamówienie LOPP. Prototyp został oblatany 15 stycznia 1935 r. przez pil. Kazimierza Chorzewskiego. Samolot ten z nr fabr. 112 zarejestrowano ze znakami SP-AOA. Wyglądem zewnętrznym przypominał RWD-9, był jednak wyposażony w silnik rzędowy oraz miał mniejszą mechanizację płata. Samolot RWD-13 cechowała duża prędkość przy stosunkowo niewielkiej mocy sinika, krótki start i lądowanie oraz łatwość pilotażu z zachowaniem dobrej stateczności. Ponadto samolot miał skrzydła składane do tyłu, ułatwiające hangarowanie na małej przestrzeni. W latach 1936-1939 wyprodukowano około 100 samolotów RWD-13. W 1937 r. powstała wersja sanitarna RWD-13S, opracowana przez inż. Bronisława Żurakowskiego. Pierwszy prototyp tej wersji ze znakami SP-BFN został oblatany wiosną 1937 r. Cztery samoloty RWD-13 były eksploatowano jescze w pierwszych latach powojennych.

Oto ciekawsze fragmenty filmu "Dziewczyna szuka miłości" z roku 1938. Rolę maszyny mającej przelecieć do Brazylii, która wyszła spod kreski młodego konstruktora, zagrał samolot RWD-11. Samolot zaginął nad Atlantykiem, potem się odnalazł i pobił rekord odległości. Oczywiście maszyna miała zasięd 800 km i nie mogła się takiego wyczynu podjąć bez zapasu paliwa :) Ale film to film. Samolot RWD-11 "Wola" to prototyp. W 1933 roku w Jerzy Drzewiecki i Stanisław Rogalski opracowali projekt samolotu pasażerskiego zdolnego do przewozu 6 pasażerów, samolot ten otrzymał oznaczenie RWD-11. Budowę prototypu zamówiło Dowództwo Lotnictwa w 1934 roku, gdyż zamierzało używać tego samolotu do przeszkalania pilotów na samoloty dwusilnikowe. Rozpoczęto wtedy budowę prototypu, lecz Dowództwo Lotnictwa wycofało się z umowy. Pomimo tego kierownictwo Doświadczalnych Warsztatów Lotniczych postanowiło kontynuować budowę samolotu. Ostatecznie budowę ukończono pod koniec 1935 roku. Samolot jednak nie został przyjęty do służby w Wojsku Polskim. Nie znalazł się także na wyposażeniu PLL LOT. Powstał tylko prototyp, który do wybuchu wojny poddawano próbom.
