It is located between the 'Poleg' stream and Wingate Institute in the south and the 'Avichail' stream in the north. According to CBS, in 2001 there were 78800 males and 84900 females with the population of the city being spread out with 31.1% 19 years of age or younger, 15.3% between 20 and 29, 17.2% between 30 and 44, 17.4% from 45 to 59, 4.2% from 60 to 64, and 14.9% 65 years of age or older. Suicide Bombing at Sharon Mall in Netanya, Israel
At 11:30 in the morning, a female police officer and passersby identified a man approaching the Sharon Mall in Netanya as a suicide bomber, and shouted out warnings. The security guards stopped the man, pushing him up against the wall, and nearby police officers rushed to help. At that point, the bomber detonated the explosives he had in his bag. One of the security guards was killed and the the policemen were wounded. Islamic Jihad's military arm, the Jerusalem Brigades, made the claim. The group later identified the attacker as 21-year-old Lutfi Amin Abu Salem, from the village of Kafr Rai, located between the West Bank towns of Jenin and Tulkarm.

Il semble s'agir d'un accident et non d'un attentat. L'instant de l'explosion prise par les cameras de surveillance du magasin du RDC. Il semblerait qu'un homme agé d'une cinquantaine d'années avait été arrêté dans journée, il travaillait, sans autorisation, sur l'installation de gaz dans un des magasins de l'immeuble. Dans le courant de l'après midi, des techniciens d'Amisragaz avaient effectué des travaux provisoires pour rétablir le gaz dans l'immeuble.
