Netanyahu's 'Winston Churchill' Moment on Iran: Infowars Nightly News

Zero Hedge November 2, 2011 First Fukushima made a repeat appearance last night with news of a repeat fission incident, a topic which has gotten absolutely zero media coverage as discussing beta, let alone gamma decay, is considered uncouth in refined society; now it is time for the fallback geopolitical hotbed to enter the stage. Sky News has reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to rally support in his cabinet for an attack on Iran, according to government sources. "The country's defence minister Ehud Barak and the foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman are said to be among those backing a pre-emptive strike to neutralise Iran's nuclear ambitions. But a narrow majority of ministers currently oppose the move, which could trigger a wave of regional retaliation. The debate over possible Israeli military action has reached fever pitch in recent days with newspaper leader columns discussing the benefits and dangers of hitting Iran. Mr Lieberman responded to the reports of a push to gain cabinet approval by saying that "Iran poses the most dangerous threat to world order." But he said Israel's military options should not be a matter for public discussion." Which makes one wonder: why is Sky News reporting on this, and why is it a matter for public discussion? More from Sky: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is due to report on the state of Iran's nuclear capabilities on November 8, and that assessment is likely to influence Israel's ...

In a remarkable video from 1978, 28 year old MIT grad Benjamin Netanyahu debates whether there should be a Palestinian state created on the West Bank and Gaza. Netanyahu argues that such a state would have but one goal: to destroy the Jewish state of Israel. He reviews the history from 1948 to 1967, when Gaza was controlled by Egypt and the West Bank by Jordan and there were no calls to end the occupation, or for national sovereignty for the Palestinians. But one thing was similar in that period and today: terror attacks against Israeli Jews. Netanyahu went by the name of Benjamin Nitay at the time. His brother, Yonatan was an Israeli commando who led the Entebbe raid on July 4, 1976 during which he died. Netanyahu chose to use the name Nitay at MIT, where he was one year behind me, in large part for security reasons due to his brother's notoriety and the spate of Palestinian terror attacks aimed at Israelis all over the world.

Sarkozy considers Netanyahu a "Liar"

French President Nicolas Sarkozy told US President Barack Obama last week he was fed up with dealing with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and considered him a liar. Sarkozy made the comment during a private conversation with Obama during a G20 summit in the French riviera town of Cannes last week and the remarks were overheard by a small number of journalists but not initially reported. "I cannot bear Netanyahu, he's a liar," Sarkozy told Obama during a frank exchange where the US president took him to task for backing a Palestinian request for membership of the UN cultural heritage agency UNESCO. A Reuters reporter was among the journalists present and can confirm the veracity of the comments, which were relayed by a French internet outlet on Tuesday.

Between Both French & American President They Don't Even Come Close To Be Called A Real Man Then Our Beloved Benjamin Netanyahu.Of Israel,Those Schmucks. PARIS — French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "liar" in talks with US President Barack Obama, who then complained of having to deal with him daily, a report said Tuesday. The private conversation, held during the G20 summit in the French city of Cannes last week, was overheard by a number of journalists after it was inadvertently transmitted over a system used for translation, media website Arret sur Images reported. "I can't stand him anymore, he's a liar," Sarkozy said in French during the talks. "You may be sick of him, but me, I have to deal with him every day," Obama replied in comments that were translated into French. A number of journalists contacted by AFP confirmed hearing the remarks. Without providing further quotes, the website said Obama had also chastised Sarkozy for not having informed the United States of France's plans to vote in favour of Palestinian membership in UN cultural agency UNESCO.

Netanyahu: Gilad Shalit to return home in days

Gilad Shalit will return home to his family in the coming days, Prime Minister Binyamin said at the start of an urgent cabinet meeting convened Tuesday evening, where he informed ministers of the deal secured for the soldier's release. Netanyahu said he had ordered the Israeli delegation charged with negotiations to initial an agreement drawn up with Hamas and mediated by Egypt, last Thursday in Cairo. Tuesday's meeting occurred shortly after the al-Arabiya network quoted an unnamed source announcing that Israel and Hamas had reached a deal. Israeli officials said the deal would be carried out in stages. Israel will release 300 prisoners out of a list of 450 prisoners drawn up by Hamas and Shalit will be transferred to Egypt and returned to Israel. At the same time an additional 150 prisoners will then be freed and shortly after a batch of 550 Palestinian prisoners of Israel's choosing. Hamas officials in Gaza said a list of the prisoners' names would be published Tuesday night. The officials said among the 1000 to be set free are 300 prisoners sentenced to numerous life sentences in Israel for their role in terror attacks, and said prisoners from other organizations besides Hamas will also be released. The officials hinted members of other organization could include Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Sadat involved in the murder of former Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze'evi. Netanyahu stressed that a window of opportunity had been created that could shortly ...

Netanyahu: We believe in the sanctity of life

Addressing journalists shortly after greeting Gilad Shalit at Tel Nof, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said the entire country is united in joy and pain. Since taking up office there was not a day that went by without efforts to secure Gilad's release Netanyahu said. He warned that if any of the 477 Palestinian prisoners released in the deal return to terror, they do so at their own risk. The decision to go ahead with the deal was one of the hardest he has ever made, Netanyahu said. "As a leader who sends IDF soldiers every day to defend Israeli citizens, I believe that mutual responsibility is not just a slogan, but one of the foundations of our existence here," he declared. Israel said Netanyahu stood firmly on two demands in the Egyptian mediated negotiations, that the Hamas leadership remain behind bars and that those serving multiple life sentences be deported to Gaza or abroad. "Israel is different than its enemies, here we do not celebrate the release of murderers, here we do not raise on our shoulders those who cut off life. To the contrary, we believe in the sanctity of life. We sanctify life. That is an ancient tradition of the Jewish people," Netanyahu said. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the prisoners' release has many risks but Israel will act to prevent those risks from endangering the people of Israel. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz said the return of Gilad to Israel was closure for the country, for Gilad and the Shalit family. The army he said ...

israelmatzav.blogspot.com Yisrael Medad is disappointed with Netanyahu's interview. I agree with his comments. There was also a part of the interview that does not seem to be up in video, and that's Netanyahu's comments on the Goldstone Commission Report. BLITZER: You know this United Nations commission, which just came back with a scathing report suggesting that Israel, your military, committed war crimes or something close to that, crimes against humanity, perhaps, even, during the fighting in Gaza. And I know you strongly disagree, but I want you to react to that United Nations report. NETANYAHU: Now you're being a diplomat. I strongly disagree? I think this is preposterous. It's absurd. Israel was rocketed, pummeled for eight years by thousands of rockets that came from Gaza. We vacated all of Gaza, hoping that this thing would stop, and they fired not one rocket, but thousands of rockets, after we left Gaza. So, what's a country to do? I mean, what would you do if thousands of rockets fell on - Where are you talking from, Wolf, Washington, right? - Washington, DC, or any part of the United States? You know what the United States would do. BLITZER: The argument, though, Mr. Prime Minister, in this UN report is that you overreacted, and, in the process, you killed a lot of civilians. NETANYAHU: We overreacted, did we? Well, let me tell you, after a million or so of our people were under rocket fire, progressively larger and larger circles of rockets falling on our ...

Netanyahu on Embassy Attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed his cabinet ministers in a meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday to discuss the violence outside their embassy in the Egyptian capital, Cairo on Friday night. "I'm happy that there are many voices in Egypt including their government that want to continue to promote peace. We are in touch with the Egyptian government about the necessary arrangements for our ambassador's return and the safety of our diplomatic staff so that we can continue to uphold Israel's representation in Egypt," Netanyahu said. Hundreds of demonstrators attacked the Israeli mission on Friday while Egyptian troops assisted the evacuation of the ambassador and diplomatic staff. Mark Heller, principal research associate of the institute for national security studies at Tel Aviv University said the riots in Egypt underline the current governmental impasse in the country. "I think the events in Cairo over the weekend are symptomatic of a continuing crisis in Egyptian governance. The inability of the provisional government or the supreme military council to restore order," Heller said. Zvi Mazel, former Israeli ambassador to Egypt is currently a researcher of Arab-Israeli relations. he says it's important to bank on the peace that has existed between the two nations for over three decades. "Egypt is in a very difficult situation, absolutely. But, speaking about the future we cannot say this is the end of the story. There is a peace... there's peace between us and ...
