UF Police Taser Student During Kerry Forum

As the person who filmed this event. I would like to say that although Andrew may appear to be a conspiracy theorist, he still was accosted by the police after Senator Kerry said he wanted to hear the question. If Accent Speakers Bureau had allowed all those standing in line to ask questions, this never would have happened. Unless of course the police would have stepped in anyway. I DO NOT KNOW ANDREW MEYER PERSONALLY. I DID NOT EDIT THIS FILM (the camera battery was low and stopped filming)

UPDATE COMING SOON MORE VIDEO FROM PROTEST TODAY UPDATE COMING SOON MORE VIDEO FROM PROTEST TODAY I couldnt get to my camera in time to record his entrance, but this guy basically comes running in with 4 or 5 cops in tow and says he has been running around trying to get in to ask a question and the cops are going to arrest him for it. they almost do it then but Sen. Kerry says he will answer it. he then answers a previous question someone else asked (i cut that part out because it isnt important to this video) then the guy asks his questions and when he is done all hell breaks lose. to the cop haters: i have no doubt the cops were going exactly by the book, the problem isnt them, its the book! they were doing their job and looked just as confused as this kid (this isnt something that they deal with often).

MAPS - The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies - with Rick Doblin (excerpt)

Rick Doblin, Ph.D., is the founder and president of MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), which he founded in 1986. His dissertation (in Public Policy, at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government) was on "The Regulation of the Medical Use of Psychedelics and Marijuana," and his master's thesis (Harvard) focused on the attitudes and experiences of oncologists concerning the medical use of marijuana. His undergraduate thesis (New College of Florida) was a twenty-five year follow-up to the classic Good Friday Experiment, which evaluated the potential of psychedelic drugs to catalyze religious experiences. He has also conducted a thirty-four year follow-up study to Tim Leary's Concord Prison experiment. Doblin has also studied with Stan Grof, MD, and was in the first group to become certified as holotropic breathwork practitioners. His professional goal is to help develop legal contexts for the beneficial uses of psychedelics and marijuana, primarily as prescription medicines but also for personal growth for otherwise "healthy" people, and to also become a legally licensed psychedelic therapist. He currently resides in Boston with his wife and three young children. Hear the full interview at: www.gnosticmedia.com

Mainstreaming Psychedelics: From FDA to Harvard to Burning Man

Google Tech Talk November 17, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Rick Doblin, Ph.D., Executive Director MAPS. We're now in the midst of a worldwide renaissance in psychedelic research, after decades of political suppression. Scientists from around the world will present their new findings at the largest psychedelic conference to take place in the US in 17 years, on April 15-18, 2010, in San Jose, CA (www.maps.org ). Even media reports, which usually mention in passing the widespread use of psychedelics by the counterculture in the 1960s, are more hopeful than alarming. In this talk, we'll review the factors which led to the backlash and the lessons to be learned, discuss how the FDA opened the door to research around the world, how the ghost of Timothy Leary was buried at Harvard, and how Burning Man struggles to respond to people who have difficult psychedelic experiences. We'll conclude by explaining how non-profit drug development, initially of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for postraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), can transform psychedelics into FDA-approved prescription medicines and can lay the groundwork for the successful, long-term integration of psychedelics into the mainstream of medicine, religion, art, creativity, and celebration. Rick founded MAPS in 1986. His dissertation [www.maps.org (Public Policy, Harvards Kennedy School of Government) was on "The Regulation of the Medical Use of Psychedelics and Marijuana," and his masters thesis [www.maps.org (Harvard) focused ...

Rare Jim Morrison FSU College Promo Video Found!!!

www.FullVapor.com This is the first video of Jim Morrison ever! This video is in the public domain. It's a clip of Jim Morrison that was discovered among films that WFSU (a PBS station operated by Florida State University) had donated to the state of Florida in 1989. After it was found it was digitally converted and posted to the state's film arching website. The video was found accidentally by Jaime Madden. When he watched the video he said, "Oh my god! This is Jim Morrison!" Finds like these definitely highlight an archivist's duty to pay attention to detail! Before attending UCLA Film School, Jim Morrison briefly attended FSU. This video was shot in 1964 while he was enrolled there. About a year later, after Jim graduated from UCLA, he led a Bohemian lifestyle in nearby Venice Beach, California. And that's when he met Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore and formed The Doors rock band. About The Video This is a public relations film on Florida State University that, in two brief scenes, features a young Jim Morrison years before his more recognized role as lead singer for The Doors. The film emphasizes the need for more college-educated Floridians to work in the state's rapidly expanding industries. It contains campus, classroom, homecoming parade and football scenes. From the State Archives: "To see that this may very well be the very first video footage of Jim Morrison just shows you we have such a rich history in our state," said Secretary of State Glenda ...
