Guns N' Roses is an American rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. The band, led by frontman and co-founder Axl Rose, has gone through numerous line-up changes and controversies since their formation. The band has released six studio albums, three EPs and one live album during their career. The band has sold an estimated 100 million albums worldwide,[2][3] including over 43 million in the United States.[4] The band's 1987 major label debut album Appetite for Destruction has sold in excess of 28 million copies and reached number one on the United States Billboard 200. In addition, the album charted three Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Sweet Child O' Mine" which reached number one.[5] The 1991 albums Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II debuted on the two highest spots on the Billboard 200 and have sold a combined 14 million copies in the United States alone and 35 million worldwide. After over a decade of work, the band released their follow-up album, Chinese Democracy, in 2008. Their mid-to-late eighties and early nineties years have been described by individuals in the music industry as the period in which "they brought forth a hedonistic rebelliousness and revived the punk attitude-driven hard rock scene, reminiscent of the early Rolling Stones

Copyright 1987 Geffen Taken from Wikipedia "Nightrain" is a song written by the American rock band Guns N' Roses in the late 1980s. It's the third song on the band's 1987 debut album, Appetite for Destruction. Although it was released as a single, the song was not included in their best-of album. It reached #93 on the US Billboard charts. The song is a tribute to an infamous brand of cheap Californian wine, Night Train Express, which was extremely popular with the band during their early days, thanks mainly to its low price and high alcohol content. We were living in the Gardener Street studio, where we had one little box of a room. We had no money but we could dig up a buck to go down to this liquor store. It happened to have this great wine called Nightrain that would fuck you up for a dollar. Five dollars and you'd be gone. We lived off this stuff. Duff - Hit Parader March 1988 Slash describes Nightrain a "an anthem that we came up with on the spot". The original idea for the song came when Slash and rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin wrote the main riff whilst they were sitting on the floor of the band's practice room. The next day, Slash was ill so Stradlin finished writing the music with Duff McKagen; however they did not write any lyrics. The song remained incomplete until one night when the band were walking down Palm Avenue whilst sharing a bottle of Night Train. Someone started singing 'I'm on the night train!' and the whole band joined in, with Axl Rose improvising <b>...</b>
